    Dear 'Plantscantalk'!

Not just plants, your keyboard can also talk..or rather...chatter away as I see you flooding snippets with your posts! :) :thumbsup

You surely can be proud of your mastery over sambar....
    Why fear
    Chitvish is here!

It is not just a single bachelor like you who has benefited from her, me too and I am a grandmom mind you! Women or let us say good cooks on the whole are unwilling to give out those secret tips that makes their dish special. But our Chitvish will tell us exactly what it is that makes the dish so dishy! And when we serve it, we do get the looks a dish should get!:rotfl

Now beware for young women will think you are dishy too.....

Congrats on being nominated to FP by Shyamala. Thanks to her or I would have missed this dish!

    L, Kamla

Kamla ma'am. Thank you. Chitvish is the best of the old and young. When my sis was learning hiw to cook, my gran was the teacher. Sis would want to know a step-by-step procedure with exact measurements before proceeding. Gran cooked by experience and feel. She had been - and continues to- cook even after 6 decades. It was learning by looking at the cook, in gran's case.

ChitVish's tried and tested recipes mean that with a bit of following the book, one can get the hang of it. The learning curve is hence steeper.

    Dear Plantscantalk,

When you posted your snippet here, did you ever realize how heart warming it will be for Chitvish?? :hatsoff

Yes, it has made not only my day, but, many of my days to come!!

However impartial I am to genders, it makes me more happy that a male also finds my app useful!!:clap

This is a real bonus to me because I had young girls in my mind when I wrote the recipes. Hence the nuances in detail.

Blessed is your wife-to-be, who will find her spouse very well equipped to share her kitchen chores!! :biggrin2:

I am sending the link to the fiancé of my grand daughter for obvious reasons!! She will bless me, for sure.

A request. Why not you send me a photo of you in the kitchen with the premium version of my app in phone in one hand and ladle in the other??

The photo will “shut the mouth”” of all those who think, I am wasting time in “making recipes”!!:hide:

If there is a more profound word than the simple thanks, that comes to you from this Chitvish!!:thumbsup

Last but not least, thanks to Srama for bringing this to my notice :)

    Plantscantalk,

So impressed :) Indeed askchitvish is a blessing, but I hardly thought it will be so useful for male too. Your words about chitvish are so true. I learnt cooking by chitvish section and now whatever I do is because of her. When I read her section I developed an interest towards cooking :)

""I think the full credit goes to Chitra maami who has put in so much of time with her recipes and has shared it unconditionally.
I read the page where she and her husband had been interviewed. Since her husband stuck to saatvik food, whatever recipes maami tried were more for helping others out.
Today's buzz word in Indian kitchens is baking. I admire the effort she had put in going thru' a baking course which to the traditional Indian is (still) out of the comfort zone.""

    :) good one.

That brought back memories-my roommate came to the US armed with 'cook and see' -no Chitvish for us then. We learned to hold the handle and 'turn around'...and burnt pots, pans, veggies. Good recipes and great humor-best translation ever:)

    Dear Chitra maami

i've never been short of words :)except when i run into beautiful girls, but your post left me all at sea.
What do i write to you? I have been mulling over this for hours. I saw your post, loved it and liked it so that you'd know that i'd read it the minute i'd seen it.

I'm sure this reply of mine will fall short of conveying what i really want to. Anyway, here goes.

Who really art thou? Wonder woman? Superwoman?

What i consider as heartwarming are:

    1. Time you've spent - and still do-- on your recipes and make it perfect so that kitchen noobies can cook w/o any hassles.

    2. Your posting the recipes and answering doubts, solely, for the recipe's sake and for helping others out w/o expecting anything in return. Something like Sherlock Holmes' taking up a case adhering to the principle of "art for art's sake".

    3. Your reply to my snippet: though well deserved, woefully falls short of being a tribute to you.

Hint: i don't know the answer.

    Ask ILites.

Btw, Chitmaami, i didn't know you had an app before i saw your reply. I used 'Ask Chitvish' in my post to refer to the thread on IL whereas your answer is almost as real as if you're standing in my kitchen and helping out folks. Since you promptly answer questions raised by hungry stomachs, i thought when in doubt, i will ask/PM you. I used 'Ask ChitVish' in that context.

Wow for the app! Let me add one more point to the above.
    4. Realizing that folks read IL on the net, you made a mobile app as well? Tech savvy with an ability to gauge the pulse of the current generation.

I have a good reason to now buy a new cell phone which would run apps. Thank you again :D

Chitra maami, I know one way to "shut up mouths" of naysayers.

Feed them a meal which you've cooked following your recipe. Kill them with kindness and the tastiness of your meals and awesomeness of your recipes.

Nothing irks a naysayer more than being kind to them.

    Take care.

    Love
    Plantscantalk

Srama, thanks for bringing this to Chitramaami's notice. I got a reply from the lady herself. I'm mightily thrilled. Happy new year to me.

thanks for your reply Radha. I think her section will actually be more helpful to males, as we are generally supposed to be guests :Din the kitchens and not residents.
