    Yeah, having a son who asks as soon as he wakes up "amma what's for snacks today or can you make ..... for breakfast today" has made me an "ever ready mom" :) :)

    I can make instant dosa with rice flour, maida and suji mixed with curds, coriander, jeera etc.

    Any kind of upma,,,suji, poha or vermicilli.

    Lemon rice

    Potato, raw plantain or bread or onion pakoda. If boiled potatoes are there in he frige I can make potao bonda

    Of course, if noodles is there I can make and give along with milk shake or something like that.

    If left over rice is there....potatoes and peas are availble immediately one can make potato, peas masala rice.

    If idli batter or dosa batter is ready nothing like that.

    So, these are all the choices...depending on the availability of ingredients at that time.

    I h these things always
    - Maggi is always my lifesaver
    Dosa maav always there
    -Bread can make - sandwitch, pakoda ....
    -biscuits , chocolates ... ( no kids can deny )
    Frozen corn- can make bhel ..( I always stock sev and meetha chutney )

    Tell us yours cedantseq!!! What's in your kitchen to feed your friend's 8 year old right now?? Would love to know what plans/ideas a guy has !!! (other than maggi!!!)

    Semiya adai
    1 cup semiya
    1 cup curds
    1 cup rice flour
    salt,green chillies,coriander leaves,hing
    Heat a little oi,roast semiya for a few minutes.
    Let it cool a bit then add curds,rice flour and the rest.
    Make adais.
    You can add cut onions or drum stick leaves if you like.

    What i can make in 10 minutes??

    Semiya
    Wheat flour or sooji sheera/halwa
    Maggi or pasta
    quick veggie paranthas (always have dough in my fridge)
    Boiled eggs/omellete/half fry with chapati
    quick potato sabzi with chapatis
    Bhel
    Onion/potato/brinjal/chilli bhajiyas
    Peanut tomato salad (very quick and healthy)
    Curd and rice
    Also veg fried rice or egg rice (with leftover rice)
