Wouldn’t it be nice to be a bird in the sky, To watch all the clouds and the sun go by, To flutter the wings , and sing and dance, And perch on the clouds for a little romance Wouldn’t it be nice to be a bird on the trees, Enjoy the fruits and the cool breeze Talk to the squirrels , and watch the chameleons change, Their coat to match to whatever within range Wouldn’t it be nice to be a bird around, To have the sweetest voice , a melodious sound, To go pritter and pratter and all the while chatter Any wherever you go it doesnt matter You have the world for your home All the sky for you to roam No tensions no fears , no work to do Except to enjoy life ,something humans dont do I pity us humans who let the world go by No time to watch the clouds or wish the sun good bye There so much money to make ,so we put our life at stake No care what we do and how many hearts we break How I wish I could be like this bird so free Of the vices of a man , of all the sins that be How I wish I could learn from the bird how to sing And not worry about tomorrow ,of a day yet to begin Oh dear bird how much I envy you How much I really wish I could be as free as you.!! Regards, Devika
Dear Devika This is my perspective! Sri ----------------------------------------------------- Every winter I need to fly from Siberia to South India To keep myself from freezing to death But look at the man who can change the climate By twiddling a few knobs on the wall! In winter his home is all heated and cozy And in summer as cool as the Alps! When we fly in groups, he looks at us with awe But we always look down upon him from the skies! We follow the movement of the sun always But to him Sun makes no difference! While we flap our wings a million times a day To move around for food and head back home But he moves around only to remain in shape! He fashions his air travel on the basis of our dynamics But we learn nothing from him in a million years Of our association with him. He kills us by the hundreds with his flying machines But blames it on us calling it a ‘bird hit’! Every living thing looks upon him for survival Yes, Man is our God until he kills us!
