    Hi Cheer

Back in India we used to have garlic . just fry chopped garlic in little ghee n mix it with rice n have it . u can add salt for taste . And one more thing just keep on telling to urself that u will have enough milk to feed ur kid n be happy ( this really works ) . U also need to have healthy food ........If possible to get u can drink mothers horlicks

    Regards

    Hi Cheer,
Foods which increase milk supply (not scientifically proven but may help) - garlic, fenugreek (methi), oatmeal, carrots. I think fenugreek is available as capsules in the US and maybe in Canada as well. Above all eat well, drink LOTS of fluids and try to stay as stress-free as possible. Have patience - when baby's demands increase milk supply will take a few days to catch up. Keep feeding him as often as possible for as long as he wants to - that will help prolactin secretion the most.

    Dear Cheer,
I remember my mother used to give me cooked boiled rice ,green gram and fenugreek (mixed together and cooked in a pressure cooker )and eat that first with a little ghee before the regular meal.It helped a lot.....you can try that too.

    Hi Cheer!!

I am from north India and I have seen that there are so many restrictions of food after delivery which is really good at that time like for the forty days after delivery mother or MIL dont give any spicy food to the new mom, they specially cook only moong ki dal and other vegetables without much spices for her. I am telling you because I have heard from the elders that spices can decrease milk supply and can upset babies stomach. Second thing they suggest lots of zeera tadka(cumin seeds) with desi ghee in moong ki dal and even in vegetables. My mom says cumin seeds are really good in increasing Breast milk. You can try that.

    Take care
