    Dear Swatir23,

Please don't stress yourself out. All it takes is one good embryo to implant. I've had many IVF's done and in one cycle I had 13 eggs retrieved, all but 3 were immature, the 3 fertilized, and on 3rd day only one was good and they transferred it and I got pregnant with that one lonely embryo (I lost that baby at 8 weeks but it DID stick). I have 2 children (again IVF) and I didn't have any of the common pregnancy symptoms (what I read on the 2weekwait forum) - no nausea or vomitting, no breast changes. For the first 3 months, since my tummy didnt get big, I was terribly nervous during each scan thinking I could have lost the babies as there was nothing really to indicate to me that I was still pregnant. The only thing I didn't like was powder smell and bayleaf smell for 5 months. I used to keep sniffing baby powder every day then just to see if it smelt bad (if it did, then it made me feel that things were alright).

Don't lose hope. Drink lots of water, don't lift heavy things (like large grocery bags), avoid spicy food and oily food and stay home and rest as much as possible. My prayers are with you.

    Dear helpmeangel

Good luck with your ET and lots of baby dust to you and the other ladies who are TTC.

    Do's -
    Drink lots of water
Bed rest day of transfer and then do only minimal house work
Eat lots of fruits like Banana/Apple
    Eat home cooked food
    Eat protein rich food
    Eat 2 egg whites/day

    DON'Ts
Avoid chilled juices (I didn't want to get a cold)
    Avoid spicy/oily food
Avoid lifting heavy items (even large grocery bags)
Don't walk up and down the stairs too much
    Avoid doing any pelvic excercises
Avoid green leafy veggies for some time(possibility of ecoli contamination if not cooked properly. I took folic acid tablets instead.)
    Don't eat papaya/jack fruit/pineapple/custard apple/sesame seeds/basil leaf or thulsi leaf

    HTH

    hi all,

During ET today, my doctor kind of forced us and made us to transfer 1 embryo only though we wanted to put in two. So feeling a bit disappointed. Hope we have not made a mistake and gave in to the doctor's demand so easily :( just wanted to share it with you dears..

    Hi helpmeangel,

They gave me methylprednisolone after ER - my RE said it will reduce inflammation and allergic reactions and will keep the body from rejecting the embryo. I think some doctors prescribe it and some don't.I am not sure if its related to the protocol.
Did the doc give a reason why only one was transferred? Was the one embryo the best quality (3AA) ?

    Hi Gayathri,

I had 14 embryos of which 2 were good A grades and 5 or so B grade and others were growing too. I will come to know the exact good emby count tomorrow. Doctor said for my age and other factors, one is a good chance and we can freeze the other good one. He felt the percentage of success remains the same for 1 vs 2. He kind of convinced us that his job is to get me a good healthy baby with no pre term or other complications with multiples. So we did not want to go against him and accepted what he told.. :(

    Helpmeangel,

It makes sense, so don't worry. Just take good care of yourself. Hope you don't get any severe symptoms of OHSS. Don't forget your progesterone tab/injections.
Hoping to hear positive news from you in 10 days.

Thanks Gayathri. Doctor told me the same too, to reduce chance of ohss as my E2 level crossed 7000.
Thanks again for patiently answering my questions :)
