Dear Chitra Madam, I read ur post on Lord Shiva, as usual, I never knew there were so many significances to the different forms of Shiva. Each time I read one of ur posts I feel a little enlightened with new and valuable information. That kolam was also very good. I love kolams. I remember growing up trying to learn a kolam just by looking at it once. Hmmm....good old days...thanks. Jothi.
Dear Jothi, Thanks for your feedback. When the formless God is denoted by a specific form, every attribute has a significance. You are right, kolam is very much in our blood. Love, Chithra.
sivaratri fasting sivaratri is on march 6th...so how should fasting be done ..please tell me correct way.
Re: sivaratri fasting Dear Sanju, There is no hard & fast rule about Shivarathri Fasting. You can fast the whole day with just water & take moong dhal kanji at night. One can go Nirjalam Without salt Without rice Only fluids Only fruits - no cooked food. Do choose whatever suits your health mainly. Love, Chithra.
Mahashivarathiri Hello ladies, What are the puja rituals, naivedyam for Mahashivarathiri? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Dear Chithra, This post of yours was very informative. The significance of Shiva's appearance is not known to many of us. You have enlightened us on this matter. Ofcourse there are various stories about 'how Ganga happened to flow from Shiva's head', 'why the serpent is coiled around His neck' etc. But the true significance of it all, you have given us here for our benefit. Regards, Malathi
Dear Malathi, I am glad you found time to read this post & send s feedback ! Thankyou very much. Love, Chithra.
Dear Mrs. C, I came to know a lot of lord shiva on this shivarathri and on its significance. Thank you for the post.Bow
Dear Chits, I liked the way you have neatly explained (which you always do anyways.. ) about Lord Shiva. Tomorrow is Shivrathri and I am all set to visit Lord Shiva Temple by 6.00 in the morning to perform Rudrabhisheka. I have already collected the token from the temple. Bum Bole Bum.. Har Har Mahadeva...
