    Hi all

My son is 2 months 2 weeks old and he is been sleeping facing one side, his right side and i found that his head is flat that side. When i asked the doctor he told me to put him facing other side. Shd i be concerned, will he be ok, i mean will his head be round once he started lying on his tummy or while crawling, bcos i try putting him other side but he turns somehow to the flat side eventhough i put pillow and other stuffs to prevent him turning to that side.
Has anybody come across this problem with ur kids?
    What else can i do?

    Thanks

    Hi,

This happens because when the child is lying facing one side only... So, pleace change positions and side... The head portion will be soft till one year... There are people who give head massage and it can be made normal... If you continue to leave the baby in the same way.... then the flatness will stay as it is... In the long run, it will look different.... It will not change by itself....

This I am talking from personal experience... However, there are elders and doctors who can guide you properly....

    Dear selvi

Thanks for ur suggestions, i am doing somewhat like the head support thing with towel, i roll the towel and keep around his head, but since it doesnt hold his head, he moves and coming back to the comfortable flat side position!!!! :crazy

Does using the head support help baby to sleep facing other side? or straight and if so can the baby sleep straight always?

    Thanks for ur valuable suggestions
    San

I was just going to post the same question. My baby is also just more than 2 weeks old. He also keeps his head to right side only. We tried keeping pillows both sides but that doesnt work. My mom is giving him head massage.

    Hi sanravi

for head massage its like pressing gently the baby's head to make it round shape. she has taught me also and its not very scary though
just that the front part of the head where the scalp is little bit soft, we should not press it there
