    [FONT=trebuchet MS,Serif]Full moon's tendrils caress baobab trees,
    matriarch's ivory tusks gleaming bright,
    she guides herd through currents of summer breeze,
    each pachyderm print outlined by starlight.
    Path's slow direction along ancient lines
    embedded in memory, before man
    walked upon verdant veldt that now defines
    life and death, hope vanishes with his plan.
    Grass rustles with threat of predator's scent,
    unknown terror closes animal's mind,
    matriarch screams, dark African air rent
    while mother protects youth's hope from behind.
    Scope sighted on his targets now in sight,
    Ranger fires, ignoring elephants' plight.

    [FONT=trebuchet MS,Serif]As each day she roams o'er those arid lands,
    while heat bathes her soul and scorches her back,
    watching people fade to dust in dead sands.

    Trees are depleting, for food - there's a lack
    and children grow weak from vast starvation,
    while heat bathes her soul and scorches her back.

    The villagers mourn through deprivation
    as custodians plan to char their lives
    and children grow weak from vast starvation.

    It pains her to know that all won't survive,
    displaced and confused...Oh where will they go
    as custodians plan to char their lives?

    They'll resort to the only way they know-
    pacing the borders 'til they all get caught;
    displaced and confused...Oh where will they go?

    Back to Zimbabwe - to existence fraught,
    as each day she roams o'er those arid lands;
    pacing the borders 'til they all get caught,
    watching people fade to dust in dead sands.

    [FONT=trebuchet MS,Serif]I am the dust beneath Zimbabwe's feet,
    bearing the weight of every dying day.
    Witness each dark and inhumane display,
    collecting desperate tales of man's defeat.

    Greedy hands stretched out in rank deceit,
    stripping self worth and any hope away.
    I am the dust beneath Zimbabwe's feet,
    bearing the weight of every dying day.

    The tread of people racing in retreat,
    all fleeing fear, starvation and decay.
    I feast on blood and tears of their dismay;
    barren, bereft of growth in death replete.
    I am the dust beneath Zimbabwe's feet.

    Nicely depicted the plight in Zimbabwe.
