Hello Friends,

His Holiness Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, in His Bhishma Ekadasi Virat Vishnu Sahasra Nama stotra parayanams, mentioned several times that there is one slokam for each person individually in this wonderful stotram. That particular slokam can be chanted say 11 times everyday which will bestow on them all prosperity at both material as well as spiritual levels. Also it removes any ill effects arising out of planet movements (Gochara) or because of natal horoscope (jataka). There are 27 stars (nakshatrams) as per our sastras and each star is divided into four padas or quartets. So in total there are (27*4 = 108) quartets which fall into the 12 constellations or rasis. Every person on this earth is born in one of these padas belonging to a particular star in a particular constellation/rasi. There are 108 slokams in Vishnu Sahasra Namam which can be distributed equally among the stars @ 4 slokams per star or 1 per each quartet/padam.
A table is given here to identify which slokam belongs to a person in a particular quartet of a Rasi
Alongwith Slo:kam numbers, the words with which that series of 1/2/3/4 slokams start is also given for easy identification. (For eg: For Aswini 1st padam/quartet the slokam # would be 1, For 2nd padam the slokam # would be 2 and so on.

I will attach the slokams for each Nakshtram in the next post.

Bye
Ramyakaushik

Vishnu Sahasra Na:mam completes with 107 slokams but our sages have added 108 slo:kam also to take care of the 108 padams/quartets of the stars. That is why we chant 107th and 108th slokams two times. Persons born in Re:vati 4th padam can chant 107th and 108th slokams also as a bonus.

As per western method of computing horoscopes, a person belongs to a constellation/rasi as per their date of birth. The constellation names given above does not represent their dates of birth. These are given as per traditional Indian style of distribution of stars among the 12 rasis/constellations.

Ramyakaushik
