    Hey,

    I am looking for some good, healthy soup recipes for kids and children.
    It may be any veggie soup, cream soup etc etc.....My daughter is bugged up with seeing the color of the soup as RED and I wonder if I can prepare soup with any other color ....

    Hey,

    You can try Almond Soup...its very healthy for growing kids and a complete meal in itself.

    15 to 20 almonds
    4 cups white stock , refer handy tip
    2 tsp butter
    1 tbsp plain flour (maida)
    3/4 cup hot milk
    3 to 4 drops almond essence
    salt and to taste
    2 tbsp cream[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]Method:[/FONT]

    • [FONT=&quot]Soak the almonds in hot water for 10 minutes, drain and remove the skin.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Keep 2 to 3 almonds aside and blend the remaining in a mixer till smooth using a little stock.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Cut the remaining almonds into slivers and bake them in an oven until crisp. Keep aside.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add the prepared almond paste to the white stock and mix well. Keep aside.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Heat the butter in a deep non-stick pan, add the flour and sauté over a slow flame for 5 minutes, while stirring continuously, taking care the flour does not discolor.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add the almond paste and remaining white stock mix well and bring to boil, while stirring continuously.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add the milk, almond essence, salt and pepper, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add the cream and mix well. Serve immediately garnished with almond slivers.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

    Handy tip: Combine 2 cups of chopped mixed vegetables (potatoes, onions, pumpkin and cabbage) with 5 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles, blend till smooth and strain. You will get 4 cups of white stock, use as required.[/FONT]

    Hey you can try this Spinach Soup:


    1 cup spinach
    2 tsp whole wheat flour
    4 almonds
    a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper powder
    1 cheese slice
    1 tspbutter
    1 cup boiled water[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]Method:[/FONT]

    • [FONT=&quot]Wash and soak almonds in hot water. After five minutes remove its brown peel and grind to smooth paste using little water.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Blanch spinach leaves (put leaves in boiling water for 1 minute, remove and wash under tap water)[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Grind the blanched leaves in 1 cup water to form a smooth paste.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Heat kadai, add butter, add wheat flour in melted butter and stir for few minutes till it turns light brown in color.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add spinach paste and stir continuously till smooth and of soup consistency.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Add almond paste, keep stirring, add salt & pepper powder if desired.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Remove in a bowl, add grated cheese slice that will melt in hot soup.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
    • [FONT=&quot]Serve warm to your toddler.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

    Hi,

    Once a week I usually give my daughter Black Chana Soup.....

    It's just that, when you prepare black chane and pressure cook the soaked chane, put more water and once the chane are done, take out just the water and put salt, little black pepper and butter according to taste and serve...

    This soup is very healthy and nutritious and I am sure your kid will enjoy it...

    Here are some soup recipes.Hope you will like them.
    Carrot-orange soup-Steam some carrots and some water and make a paste.In a vessel add the paste and let it cook for some time.Then add some orange juice and let it boil.Then add a pinch or two of sugar,salt and pepper and stir it and turn off the gas.
    Spinach soup-Blanch some spinach and add make a paste.Add some milk and garlic chopped to it and boil it stirring it continously.Add some salt and pepper.
    Dudhi drumstick soup-Steam some drumsticks and bottlegourd.Make a paste of the bottlegourd and the inner flesh of drumsticks.Add water to it and boil.Add a pinch of sugar,salt and pepper.

    today tried your almond recipe, just the way you've written. Soup came out very well and children really enjoyed till last drop.
