    Re: Part 6!

I admire your strong support to Priya. It's not just sympathy, not even empathy, but a feeling deep down that a love as sincere is Priya's love should not fail. It's just wishing to see goodness succeed, and a good marriage like that of Madhavan and Priya flourish and see better days.

But honestly Chocolate, I have seen in many cases, people losing their love, their lives and their marriages by trusting a wrong person. It is one thing to argue that they deserve such a kind of loss because their only mistake was just trusting a wrong guy (or a gal). Though a morally good argument, it is not practical.
If someone simply trusts a vial of poison as a sweet drink and drinks it, will she be spared from the consequences simply because her only mistake was trusting?
You may also think on these lines, Chocolate. And do keep thinking till next week till I come up with some answers.

    regards,

    Hello Vandhana,
I am sorry and I apologise to you and Sudha for having disappointed you. But I told you that all questions will be answered eventually. I never said Episode 15 will provide all the answers. Your disappointment can be justified and sympathised if I had ended the serial without answering the questions.

Yes, Vandhana, almost all ILites have guessed that. I wanted that to be so, for at times a writer should give an unexpected twist and at times he should give an expected turn in the story. A good novel has both these techniques.

I have been waiting for this question. In the eyes of Madhavan Priya is a traitor. He even thinks that she might have had an affair with the Vulture. That explains his accepting Sharada's love.

    Thanks.

Yes, that's the only way. But I may have to caution you that in answering a dozen questions, I might give raise to a hundred. Have a great week.

    regards,

    Dear Sridhar,
A “placid” post, if I can say so. By the law of averages, this makes up for the racy posts, on some weeks.
You explanation for the name Sethu – bridging the name and happiness, is thought provoking. How I wish, my parents had named me more aptly – sadly, I am nowhere near “picturesque” in appearance!

I liked your concept that one should “cling” to the “teaching” than to the “teacher”. Many do not realise that a thin line separates the two and start following the master than his teaching.

You are right, enlightenment does not mean detachment from near and dear. One , once enlightened, must be able to strike the right balance in life – but, easily said than done.

Yet, another point I likes is this. We must learn to depend more on nature to take its course, rather than interfering at every stage, when it comes to various aspects of our life. If only, we develop patience for the same! A friend of mine strongly advises it and I have started realising the truth in what he says.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chithra,
A story is very much like our life. Our lives are racy and fast on some days but placid and tranquil most of the days.
A racy episode is like a feast. Being the greatest cookery expert on the site you know very well that we cannot have a feast every day. Then it will no longer be a feast but a punishment. I had been to my friend's marriage a few years ago. On the day after marriage the menu was paruppu thohaiyal, milaku kuzhambu and milaku rasam. I had partaken in the feast on all the preceding days. So the menu was like the elixir of immortality for me.

Next to writing my topic of favourite research is the name, or rather the reasons behind the names. Chithram is very rich in meaning. Only one of the meanings is "picturesque". There are a lot of other meanings too. I need to open a special thread exclusively for that. Moreover I dont want to carry coal to Newcastle. But I cant help saying this.
You know well that Lord Yama's assistant is called Chithragupthan. Many people associate Chitragupthan with death. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The word "Guptha" means "secret". (I am reminded of a film which I was forbidden to see during my school days, Gupt Gyan, the secret knowledge which was all about sex) So Chitra Guptha means a keeper of a wonderful secret. Here Chithram is not just picturesque but means wonderful, marvelllous (you can supply as many adjectives as you want; but still cannot bring the full import of the word Chithram).
Chithragupta carries a secret which we mortals can not know. None of us has ever even attempted to know that.
Now by implication your name means wonderful, marvellous... etc. You have been named right by your parents, a proposition your ardent fans and devotees in the site will enthusiastically second.

I am very happy that you got the point right. In fact writing this part of the episode has been a fulfilling experience for me. I was thrilled to note that Paulo Coelho, a Portugese Author, (author of 11 Minutes and Zahir) had a similar thought. I have posted his thought on the subject in another thread. Will you enter that thread? To know what it is you need to click the question, "Will You Be My Valentine?" appearing beneath my signature. I missed you there. But you have responded to the quote I've given there.

A zen sutra says it elegantly,
Before enlightenment, cutting wood and drawing water.
After enlightenment... cutting wood and drawing water.

I fully second you and your most learned, wise friend. (I know who it is; hence this epithets) Let me supplement to what has already been stated. One has to extend the same kind of patience towards Varalotti' serial ha ha ha
    Thanks for the fb.
    Love,

    Dear Sridhar,
Is there a word that can aptly term this wonderful episode?? No way, I enjoyed every line although with very passing line like many others I was left wondering about Priya.
In particular Guruji naming Mahavan as Sethu and the way he justifies the name is very nice. Sethu getting so attached to the Ashram was expected but then ther are many questions that Iam left to ponder over. For someone like Madhavan who has seen it all in life it shows his maturity that he is at peace in the ashram.
What happens now that lawyer Kalpana has taken over the reins of Sharadha's arrest? Will she let the truth about Madhavan out? What will be Sharadha's reaction?
It's unafir to ask for answers right away but then curioisty gets better of me. That Sethu is going to be out in the world again, with a letal weapon like Varmakkalai makes him armed than before.
    Interesting, Intrigung too!!!!

    Dear Janani,

That's a life philosophy, Janani. While we are waiting for something to happen, or waiting for somebody, we should not forget to enjoy what is there for us. That's why Gita was first spoken on a battle field. Of course the battle is important no doubt. But while there's time for it, we should also listen to some basic, revealing truths. Gita is placed in the epi-centre of Mahabaratha and that's about the greatest teaching it contains, I mean it's place in the epic, and in our lives.

And before I forget, the lines appearing beneath your signature are quite profound. That looks like a practical wisdom gained by you. In fact, Janani, as one wise soul put it, wisdom consists more of illusions lost than knowledge gained. Those two lines seem to contain a big story. I am amazed by the truth those statements contain.

No, Janani. It's not unfair to ask for answers right away. But it will be unfair on my part, if I give out the answers now. Honestly I do not know them right now. I am confident that Mother Goddess will bless me with the answers before Friday.

Thanks for the fb and thanks for the nice words. And a special thanks for those two lines appearing beneath your signature.
    love,

    Dear Sridhar Sir,

A very nice episode and well written. Like other ilites I am also worried about Priya. Yes there was some mistakes from her side also but she had loved Madhavan in true sense. Anyways I think this is your way of creating the suspense, so I will wait for another episodes to know about Priya. :2thumbsup:

    Ranjita.

    Dear Ranjitha,
Thanks for the nice words. All the ILites are worrying about Priya now. I think that is an indirect compliment paid to me. Thanks.

I did want to answer all the questions in this episode and end it. But then the episode became crowded with too much events. That's why I extended the serial to one more episode.
Let's hope it will end well.
I think you are writing in this forum for the first time. Welcome Aboard, Ranjitha.
May you carry pleasant memories from visiting this forum.

    Re: Part 6!

Seeing is believing and hearing about it is believing.Although its not practical but hearing or seeing it will reassure that maybe its possible. Doesnt the world exist on these thoughts.Lets hope so with priya and madhavan.

    Dear Sridhar,
You have beautifully woven the story about how Nalini became Sethu's mother, it is really touching. Age is not a criteria between them, it is so sweet a relation!
the story is nearing the climax, but no Priya so far. You must be keeping her in capitivity and may be planning to bring her as the last trump.
It is nice to see the Sharada is also peaceful as she had found the love of her life, though late.
Now poor Priya, what about her?
