    Hi friends,

Need your help again.... Ok so am travelling with my 2 yrs old to India..... My family there uses milk brought by milkman....am not sure whether our kids tummy accepts that milk...... Which brand milk is good in Hyderabad..... And also did you all use bottled water for your kids....my question is even if use bottled or boiled water. At some point they may come across situation where they have to drink tap water. Like bathing, or cooked food at some others place.....
Seriously I dont understand why am being sooooooo over cautious..... I grew up there but......... But during our last trip( when he was infant) he got affected by some bacteria or virus( don't know what) and got cold which lasted 2 and half months and after we came to US doc gave some antibiotic when finally that cold gone..... Generally after coming here touch wood he never falls sick.... So am worried...... Sorry for long post....

    Thanks
    Jignasha.

Does anyone have any experience how to carry gold from here. Heard that in India they are being very strict.

Milk in Hyderabad is thick and delicious. He might get infected by traveling not with the milk. When compared to other states, Hyderabad milk or tea is delicious

@jignasha US born kids when visiting India tend to fall sick. Change of environment, pollution etc. can all be the reasons. One cannot necessarily pin point and say it is because of water.

Our Indian style of cooking has enough steaming/boiling that any bacteria/virus in regular water would die. So I dont think it is necessary to use bottled water. For regular drinking use bottled water. Wherever you go, carry water.

While it is good to be cautious, it is better not to be paranoid. After all growing up in India has helped build a strong immune system for us.

    Dear Jignasha
My brother was in India in April this year with his 4 months old infant and 2 year old DD none of them fell ill during their sojourn of 1 month period touchwood ... At our home we have RO water filter so that took care of water issues.. One caution one has to observe is the diet because in India when one visits from abroad relatives will like to treat you with heavy foods that may be behind stomach upset and et al problems... So go slow on these food am sure you will have nice stay at India without issues...

Ref#5 does it answer your concerns relating to your child & you visiting India and issues pertaining to virus bacteria in water and unbraided milk? At #5 it is suggested to buy vegetables and fruit juice of a particular Indian brand from amazon. Is it ok for you?
