I was diagonised with GD on my 9th week. Are you confused about administering insulin? If Dr have adviced for the same, pls go for it and follow the diet. High blood sugar will cause problem in pregnancy. But it will be definitely under your control if you follow the Dr advice. I was on insulin and diet from my 9th week till my delivery. If mother's blood sugar is high, baby's body will start producing more insulin to keep the blood sugar normal which is not good. Also in later months baby will tend to gain more weight if mother have sugar. Dont worry GD is common nowadays. I had a healthy baby and she is going to be 1 year old soon. All the best :)

    Hi,

i have one query about Insulin injections that you have prescribed to be taken everyday. Do you have to take insulin injection everyday from given week till delivery? Do you have to go to clinic or hospital everyday to take injection? Pls reply..i am asking this because me too have found my sugar level high. Doctor had given diet plan as of now. Next month if sugar persists, she will prescribe insulin. I have completely no idea about it

You are welcome dear. I understand your feelings as I was on the same situation almost a year back. Even stress might increase your sugar level. So dont feel tensed regarding this at all. Take care :)

    Insulin pen.jpg
The insulin injection pen will look like this. Pen type injection can be administered by yourself and your physician will teach how to administer the dosage by yourself. If blood sugar is very high(for type 1 diabetes), then normal type of injection will be given(it will look like 2 ml injection syringe). For GD only the sugar level will be slightly high than normal pregnant people,so pen injection is enough. You will not feel the pain at all while taking the shot. So dont worry. :thumbsup

    Dear Anuram,

thanks a lot for such detailed information. I am walking almost 1-1.30hr per day and following strict diet plan. I have to repeat the test next month. Trying my best to keep my levels under control.

Please tell me if there is any specific exercise or yoga (other than walking) which will be helpful. Thanks again

Sorry dear. I dont know any exercises specific for diabetes. But stress will increase your blood sugar. So yoga will definitely help to knock off your stress, which in turn will maintain your blood sugar.
