There is always a song in my head that wouldn’t go away. It looks as if it is there to stay .
Some songs are melodious and keep repeating like MS kuraionrumillai or Yesudas kannanai kandayo mallikodiye. These I enjoy whether it is morning noon or night. It sometimes pops up just for the few minutes I am up at midnight to get a glass of water.... it just vanishes on sleeping only to be back again on waking up. It is like a dear friend always with you. .
The tune or song is not always to my liking sometimes it is disgusting not to be able to get over it or think of something else with the pestering background music in my head.
I once heard the famous rocker manmatha rasa when I was traveling by bus. The song or atleast the first few sentences just stuck to my mind. It wouldn’t go away much as I tried singing myself hoarse with new ones I liked. Once I stopped singing aloud this one took over to repeated again and again. I tried reading, talking to people or watching TV but I couldn’t wish it away.
My recent one seems to be from jaya TV which I switched over in the morning …senthamiz nadennum pothinile …

For me..its different songs during different times.......and even when I was writing my ACS final exam suddenly I would remember a song and either the lyrics or the tune would go throu my mind bonk and then I should remind myself that I should be serious in my thoughts since I was wrtiting a professional exam........so Sathya, I think its perfectly alright to have a singing head.......

    Sathya,

I was humming the song 'kurai ondrum illai and opening the ur thread and found those same lines. God! what is this!

    The song'Manaivi amaiva tehllam
Iraivan kodutha varam' by jesudas is my favourite after 'Athisaya ragam ananda ragam- - -- -- -.

Music is next to God for me. Enter the bathroom I start singing. I have good voice but no luck in music. Now I sing to keep me happy.

I found recently that u are associated with Sangeeetapriya.com. Am I right?
Leisurely I will surf that site of yours.

Sathya I want to learn different ragas through light music.

That reminds me of something more. my mother is in search of the lyrics for the song'shri saraswati namoustute amba sakala loka -- -- - -. can U help me. I got the lyric from Rasika.org. She says she has learnt charanam with different lyrics. Cau u help me with ur lyrics. kanaka:clap:clap:clap:clap

    Dear Sathya,
A nice realistic post.actually many folks encounter with this problem??!!! For me I too purposely wanted to avoid singing certain songs like "loose penne":confused:.But the way they had composed the music for some songs make us to hum its lyrics like becoming a reflex. When we get some conciousness,I feel so shamed of humming such filthy songs without meaning:bang .But sometimes certain melodious songs become our friends that our mind keeps on singing these songs even in deep sleep as U said.I think both of us are sailing in the same boat:cheers. As long as it does'nt become an obsession,I feel it's very cool & soothing to have a singing head like us:coffee
