Sleeplessness...

    Hallo friends.........i want to discuss an issue with you all........
    Since last 1yr i have developed a problem of sleeplessness....
    Speaking in details, when i go to sleep i dont fall to sleep immediately as i used to get always before.. but its becoming worse day by day. Even if i manage to fall sleep soon by chanting God's name or so.....i get awake by midnight or very early morning.....and all kinds of tensions overcome me at that time.....even petty tensions also seem to be big issues during that time....and i fail to get it away from my mind...even if i try best.
    This situation has become worst since last 8months when my relationship with my close net friend went wrong.....as he was my only close friend....and now he seems to keep away from me...as he is getting married after i dint accept his proposal.
    No doubt i have been able to distract my mind from his reactions.....
    but nowadays even other petty issues make me sleepless at night.

    I hope i could explain my problem properly....
    Please suggest me friends as to what should i do before the situation gets worse ....
    please help

    Try to do Meditation or Yoga.Get your self involved in some Physical activity like gardening or excercise.

    Try to divert your mind from things what ever happedn earlier.

    Thanks but i am already doing physical excercise daily.....
    No doubt i succeed in diverting my mind from these bad thoughts in other time....but it overcomes me when i am asleep
    Also Please advice me what meditation i need to do

    do you carry lot of things in your mind before you hit the bed? because anxiety or excitement will leave you feel restless which could also cause this. Try to be calm and patient. Keep telling your mind that there is tomorrow to take care of that issue.

    Load an ipod with your favourite songs, listen to it by setting sleep timer.

    world is big. you can find lot more friends. so don't get disturbed.

    having warm milk at night..aids good sleep . try it.
    keep the room dark..as too much light could be distracting.also dont watch tv prog which excites you positively or negatively.
    if you believe in chanting..you can chant god's name till you get sleep.

    Ya my room is always dark.....with little light entering through ventilation from the street light.
    Ya i do chant also.
