    Hi friends,

Its Valentine time again, the time I look forward to with great anticipation.Mushy Me!!!
In this fast paced life this is one day WE completely devote to each other. Arrangements for babysitting is taken care of in advance,And i look forward eagerly for the valentine gift for which i keep dropping these hints so that my dear hubby doesnt suffer from selective amnesia.
I personally feel that it is a great opportunity to make the most of a wonderful relationship for which we sometimes have to struggle to get some time due to a LOT many commitments.
I started of with heart shaped balloons, roses , scented candles and have now graduated to eloping with him away from the mad rush of the city to some hill station .

To makeup for the other loves of my life, I have a special celebration for my MOM and KIDS on the previous eve and shower them with gifts. So when I have my secret Rendezvous with hubby dearest theres no element of guilt. Good way of having the cake and eating it too . Isnt it?. C"mon share your plans and your most wonderful memories of
    Valentines.

    Regards,

    Devika

Wow! Wonderful idea. I wish to implement it some day.
We never did anything out of way, except I am big rose person. and i dont miss any chance to be given roses. So I always get roses from hubby. This time I am planning to paint a nice card for him. And probably a romantic movie with him at home with firewood on.. Thats the most I can do for this time.

    Lets hear from others too..

    Hey Devika,

    Nice and sweet topic!!

My hubby always gets me roses and a musical card...:) and maybe a nice lunch out on the previous weekend ( we always have a valentine's week in our house..same with birthdays..its always a birthday week..so we can get lots of days to enjoy!:queen)

I'll bake him a heart shaped cake most likely...with maybe pasta and chocolate covered strawberries for dinner... and a bottle of wine...with candles and a nice movie...:) I'm still thinking about whether to have pasta or something more Indian...I think the planning part is even more enjoyable...lol

Giftwise, I am still thinking...maybe a sweater or a bottle of safari..not sure...

    love,
    Aarushi

Gosh, you ladies are lucky. My DH doesn't believe in celebrating V day. shakehead His logic is that i love you everyday - not just on Feb 14!!! can't convince him otherwise!! any ideas?

    Dear Mythraeyi,

U should tell him its just for the fun of it. Its just like having a candle light dinner for two on a just a regular day not because its ur birthday or anniversary. :queen
Give him something on valentine's day and see how he reacts.

Hey, tell him that since he loves you, can he spend the day as YOU wish??!! :queen

Then tell him to get roses, not because its Valentine's day, but because he loves you and it will make you really, really, really happy!:-D

Its like celebrating Diwali for example. Its not like we do not pray to Ganesh or Laxmi any other day of the year...

Anyways, if I were you, then I would go ahead and plan the day and then tell him that he should come with you..if its a dinner then he just needs to be there, isn't it?!!:-D

To be honest, in my case, I'll plan everything as my dear hubby will forget which day of the week it is. I just need to keep subtly (?) reminding him that I would love pink colored roses this year...or that let's go to this Italian place this Saturday for celebrating V-day...lol

For the dinner I'll make everything, get the movie and then ask him to chill the wine and set the table with candles etc (that I've already put out)...so he doesn't get much room to wriggle out...:exactly:

    Hope this helps...

    love,
    Aarushi

    Hi Friends,

My hubby also does not want to celebrate V Day.He says i love u 365 days why V day? I just want to dedicate 1 day for us from hectic busy life .I tried what aarushi told last year,he participated just for the sake not whole heartedly. This year again my gift is already ready :banana, will prepare good candle light dinner at home.(cant go out as its weekday this time)Waiting to see his reaction......He loves me a lot but way of expressing is different...

    Aarushi,
I liked the smart way you remind him, will give a try & keep u updated.

    Cheers

Same with my hubby :idea...he says V-day is all westernized and commercialized:idontgetit:! But I make it a point to do some kind of celebration. This is our 5th year. For the first 2 years, he somehow participated and even gave some gifts..now after the baby, hectic work, etc...he hardly finds time to celebrate or make a day special...be it my birthday or v-day. Somehow I've been losing interest since he doesn't reciprocate well. Yeah...love is about giving...but the sensitive me expects something...
Well...anyways...this time my plan is to watch 'jab we met' on that day..if not that day ... atleast that weekend and have a nice home-made dinner. Moreover we have got a good perk at work and time to spend :shhh: on gifts!

    love...Hema
