    Hi Ladies,

Yesterday i returned to home from office by 7.10 after completing a shopping.
I again went to shop for buying few pack of green tea for my PIL's as they are in Nellai, they don't get it there, hence i decided to get it here and courier, just to surprise my PIL's and Hubby :thumbsup, So as soon as i returned home i packed it in cover written the address and kept in my handbag so still my hubby is not aware of it, today on the way to home i will courier it.

Along with green tea i also bought Rajma and fresh cream, thought to do Dal Makhani (going to try this first time:)) for next day breakfast and for Lunch.

I Started my regular kitchen work by 7.30 PM only, I steamed rice and heated the frozen mutton kurma for dinner, and dish washed all the vessels, washed & soaked black urd dal and Rajma for next day cooking and my goodness i found my living room sofa clutter free:cheers Result of Yesterday 15 mints workout of decluttering:thumbsup, just broomed the floor and made a dough for next day cooking and kept it in Fridge (Still my fridge is longing for my clean up day for it.:hide:).

Taken my Chocolate brown color Cotton salwar and kept it in cot for next day wear (not ironed it, Still i am lazy:bonk)
Dusted the Sofa and covered it with Sofa head cover and thought to relax till my husband come, watched Television.

As soon as he come, served dinner and went to sleep.

    Hi every body,

It's almost bed time now and just thought i'll share my day with you all and then sleep.

I woke up as usual at around 7 made coffee for DH and me :coffee and organic milk for my DD. DH then went straight into our another bedroom and locked himself to get into his office calls and work. DD was well behaved today. I made sambhar and potato curry today and then made vaangi bath with colourful capsicums.

Then prepared dosa and gave it to DH and fed my DD and i also had the dosas with sambhar.

then packed lunch for DH and he left for office. In between this gave some mid morning snacks likes string cheese also for my DD ( she loves this:) Then gave her a bath made her watch a few you tube cartoons and i quickly went for a 5 min shower...i can see her watching the cartoons and always prefer to have in front of me no matter where i am

then i gave her lunch and i had my lunch and browsed a few websites for like an hour almost :spin:rant totally hate that...this is the time i want to cut down

next i put my DD to sleep and gave her a tight hug and i also slept...yes i got to sleep in a afternoon after so many weeks and I slept well for like almost more than a hour which i have never done...anyways, it was refreshing

then when DD woke up, I gave her some organic milk and a dosa and mashed banana for every snack. I also had dosa

Had got some strawberries and quickly made strawberry jam for tomorrows breakfast. made some rice. washed the vessels and cleaned the kitchen countertop and our living room and the dinning room as well. living room looks well now. have to think about some decorative ideas as well.

dinner was same as lunch and then watched NVOK and washed the remaining vessels and gas stove and now on to IL

sorry for the long post...but just felt like sharing...I'll try to shorten it next time. By the way I have committed to my mom also to clean up my puja room and our 2 bedrooms tmw. Hope i'll make it

hi love2 smile, let it be a long post. Only when you are writing down everything you did for the day, you will find where we lapse, where we can save time etc.

Hi Magee, way to go!! Balancing work with house work is really challenging. I am at home for last 4 years (before also I was doing only part - time), but definitely feel the difference.

Yesterday what I forgot to update is myself recited Vishnu sahasranamam along with mp3. DD followed with a book.

Today my routine was little affected as there was no power in the morning. Entire night also there was low voltage, even two fans were in slow motion. So no sound sleep. Got up only at 6.30 as my DS has a holiday today. Took bath immediately, as I had plans of doing paayasam today, since today is my DD's star birthday and also being Friday. DD had asked me to do Quinoa paaysam.

First I had pressure cooked Quinoa (just had 150 gms approximately) with 2 times water and 250 ml of milk. Then added another 250 ml milk 150 gms of sugar, half tin of milk maid and boiled. Added a small pinch of pachai karpooram, fried raisins and cashew in ghee and added along with two elaichis powdered. This was the neyvedhyam today. DH did pooja as fil in not here.

With no power, I had to change my plan of cooking, but got power for half an hour. Again went back to my plan. Able to grind for bisibelabath. While frying for chutney again power went off. My plan was also on and off. Finally made the bath. No chutney no dosa. The paayasam itself served as B/F as everybody liked it. When the power was on switched on the motor, watered plants.

I would like to give few points I follow, which may be of use to at least few of you

    1. Will not postpone things. Will do as I see it. For example, if I come across a thing which doesn't belong there, pick it up keep it in its place. I insist my kids also to follow. While they see us constantly doing it, they naturally follow it.

    2. Things which has to be kept upstairs, will be kept on the stairs. Anybody who is going up will take it, keep it in its place. If kids, they at least dump it on the bed, which I will organize latter when I go up. If I am not having enough time, while cleaning one room put things which don't belong there in one or multiple big shopper bag. So that take particular bag to the next target room and it will be easier to organize it there. No need to walk up and down to all the rooms, while cleaning one room.

    3. I frequently get some boxes of food from my mom through my dad (as they live in 10 min drive). As soon as I wash those boxes / anything to be given to my mom, I keep it in a bag at a particular place in kitchen. Whenever my Dad comes next check that place and take the bag. So no need to search whenever he is coming or I forgetting to give it.

    4. After emptying the bags of vegetables or groceries (always I keep at least three medium size cloth bags in my activa box - go green initiative!!) keep it on the window sill where i hang my activa key, so that when I take the key, take the bags also / or I keep in activa box immediately.

    5. Will try to do 2 jobs at a time. For eg., cut vegetables while seeing TV (very rare I sit and watch TV), or making dosa or while helping kids in their studies. While waiting for cooker pressure released, after keeping sambhar and rasam on stove, will wipe doors of kitchen cabinets, clean mixie, wipe water filter etc.

6, Immediately keep things back after use. Mainly in kitchen. This also gives me good exercise.

    7. While arranging vessels after wash, will keep in the same place regularly, so that I don't have to search for it every time. Keep the vessels and lids together. Keep the eating plates separately from the plates used for covering food. Keep flat ladles, ladles for liquids, spoons, knife scrapper in separate sections in the partitioned draw. I prefer to keep it myself as my mil or maid is not so particular.

    8. As I have mentioned in "clean home" thread, I have hung a white board, to write all pending works, rub it as soon as it is done, or mark the date, if it needs follow up. My DD enthusiastically write, whenever I say, something has to be done. When somethings need repair, immediately she writes it there.

I think it is enough for today. Will update you when something clicks. If it is not too boring refer my posts no.:9,20,77, 81. The thread starter ubfsabari has given her schedules in a tabled format. Also refer contributions of magicworld, lovely-ambica and others for very useful informations. http://www.indusladies.com/forums/beautiful-kitchen-and-spotless-home/149935-clean-home.html
