    Thank you Latha, and Mega.

    Good morning, good evening –
So what could I really do on Sunday April 22?
5:00 am – Woke up; made the bed.
    5:30-6:30 am – Exercised – 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes treadmill
6:30-7:30 am – Weed garden, plant plants. It rained . So did not venture out.
6:45- 8am- Cleaned the bathroom and took shower. Post shower - Wiped down the shower stall and left to air dry
8:30 – put one batch of clothes in washer.
    Lit lamp in puja room.
    Breakfast – washed dishes.
While breakfast was going on I emptied one kitchen drawer and wiped the drawer clean.
10 am – noon –Cooked lunch and dinner; washed dishes; cleaned up. While cooking lunch, I decluttered the stuff I took out during b’fast and neatly arranged the remaining stuff. Drawer looks neat :)!
    • Dried clothes. Washed another batch of clothes.
12 –4 folded clothes, had lunch, went grocery shopping.
By the time we returned it was time for my class. Switched on my Skype and got ready.
    4:30 – 5:30 – music class
5:30 – 7 – Put away groceries. While making evening coffee, pressure cooked dhal. Lit lamp for deity. Checked vegetables, wrote down menu. By now I was a bit tired.
So saw to it that Monday’s menu had no grinding involved. Chopped onions and refrigerated. Had greens; so separated leaves from stem. Washed the okra (lady’s finger) and spread it on kitchen towel to dry.
7-8pm – Ironed five sets of clothes for my work week. Folded second batch of clothes.
8 -9pm-Dinner. Washed dishes, cleaned kitchen sink, wiped down stove, swept and mopped floor. Threw away trash. Placed clean liner in trash can.
Sew falls if needed and iron one saree and its matching blouse. Did not do this. I was a very tired by then so did not do this.
9-9:30 pm – Brushed teeth, moisturize hands and feet, wrote down-Monday’s schedule.
    9:30 – 10 pm – Log in to IL.
Oh I watched TV while folding clothes.

Those simple exercise routines I will try to follow. Since I am not working, I will be having a routine doing things, like cleaning, taking kids to classes, cooking etc. Only I skip exercise as I would like to do in the morning. But now its high time I have to fit in that. But now in-laws are with me my routines have all changed as each ones eating time differs, nap time differs, snack time differs. Apart from this I have to take care of my kids routines and classes. I think I will get into some sort of schedule when both my kids start going to school from June. Now my daughter will be on holiday, for my son his coaching started from today and goes on till May 22. Again for both it starts in June. I intend to follow this thread to keep myself fit.

    Regards
    Manjukps

I read your Sunday routine and i saw that from 5:00 to 9:30 pm you are only working, which means almost 14.5 hours of work continuously. I seriously doubt if somebody can do this much of work or even if its done on a day, same routine can be followed for a long time.

    Dear Aashuabhi

Working?? I was actually relaxing the whole day. To me exercise is relaxing, cooking is relaxing and enjoyable, folding and ironing clothes is therapeutic and I really unwind.

Housecleaning is exercise with both me and the house looking good afterwards.

I strongly believe it is all in the mind.

I once read somewhere that the "the more you do, you can do even more".
Also being busy is a good thing.

I read through my Sunday work again and can see why you think I am "working" all day.
I do take breaks after completing each work. Perhaps I should have documented it somewhere. Only if I were to write all that it will be very long. Besides it is difficult for me to document every ten minutes of work.

For example: here I am giving my response to your feedback before heading to work...:)

Please make a note that I did not clean any other room except the bathroom on Sunday. That too before the shower. The kitchen cleanup before bedtime is a regular and takes less time. There was no deep clean.

Washing dishes after cooking every meal (or even during) takes very little time. Only if we pile things it will take longer. The drive behind washing the dishes is my desire to keep the sink empty, clean and shining.

Also Sundays I dedicate to getting ready for the week.

I see you are from Bangalore. Here I do not have domestic help; so, yes I do everything.
As I have been working all my adult life and mostly in this country, doing all the housework is nothing new.

Well I can go on and on about this...but I think you get the gist of where I come from.

    Dear Manju
I mainly put those routines up for you. Hope you find them useful. Another recent discovery here is our "skipping rope".
You can do that for one minute to get a quick aerobic warm up... and you wont feel bad for not using the treadmill.

Yes, routines change all the time. My routine before my children were born and after were constantly changing.
    Wishing you all the best.

    Dear Kanaka
    Thank you so much.
You have written exactly what I have in mind and what this thread is all about.
Planning is important, but equally or more important is not to beat yourselves up if unable to do something.
I intend to show that I don't do some work that I plan.

Monday Aprill 23rd – what I accomplished in reality
Well, just as I expected, the moment I try to be organized and follow a plan, life happens.
Let me tell you what happened today.
    *********
5:00 am – Woke up. Did warm up exercise.
Made the bed. It has become a habit.
5:30-6:00 am– We had to place an important call to our family in India. When I put the phone down it was already 6:15. So morning exercise was gone.
6:15 – 7:50 am – Did everything in my plan
10: am – do mini fitness routine for 5 minutes; drink water. – Yes . did that.
Lunch break exercise and 2 pm mini stretch : No-did not do it. My lunch was advanced due to an important all-hands meeting which went till 2:30 pm. Then my Supervisor had me sit and go through some important stuff. This resulted in me staying back longer by 40 minutes.
5:40 pm – reached home. Put trash cans out on the curbside for Tuesday’s pick up. It was wet and cold so did not want to come out later, as originally planned.
Had a welcome hot cup of coffee, sat back with my feet up and watched some recorded programs with my husband. I never give up this time for anything. This is the time we share what happened at work.
Weeding was not in today with very cold and damp weather. But with little time I quickly made pongal for dinner and by the time I started my exercise it was 6:45 pm.
6:45 – 7:30 pm – Thrown in one batch of clothes to wash. Exercise time includes cool down.
    Put clothes in dryer.
7:30 – Wiped down bathroom mirror, sink, counter top, commode before shower. Wipe down shower and let dry.
7:50 - Obviously not much time to do the work in Master bedroom. So I decided to just do what flylady asked us to do today.
It took me just five minutes - Removed all the stuff that did not belong in the bedroom (yes, I timed it)

8 pm- had dinner. Washed dishes, cleaned sink. Wiped down stove top, swept floor.
8:30 – Checked menu for Tuesday. Got everything ready. Watched Airtel Super singer for 30 minutes.
9 pm: Emptied my closet for 10 minutes. Folded the dried clothes. This took 15 minutes
    9:30- 10 pm – Night-time routine.
    ********
    In a nutshell:
Today I exercised less than 50% of my original plan. But I exercised which is the positive thing.
Did a small part to cleaning my master bedroom. Started preps for cleaning the closet. It was a constructive Monday after all.
