Just now I heard from my husband BSE crash has affected many ladies in Gujarat. They areleft high and dry with no money to pay the brokerage. Many are seeking psychiatric help. There is also a talk that some of them had made these investments keeping their husband in the dark. As a result it has become difficult to approach their partners.

Wisdom comes very late to some and some are clever enough to realise at the right point of time.

An elderly person who has been in such investment games told us"Naan intha velayatt stpo penniyachu. After all what we gain is somebodyelses hard earned money and when we claim that our hands become dirty and mind loses its peace of mind. Rightly said.

Another interesting news- young college boys had invested amounting to RS2500/-
Ellam m gutter le poye poyiduthu!
In malayalam it is said"Athyagrahikki ullathu kudi illth aakum" That,s what has happened! kanakabonkbonkbonkbonk

    hey kanaka,
not all are smart enough to handle stuff, i have known people live on this sharemarkets and are lucky to have been there, every field has its way of life, some due to guilt don't go there or some call is sour grapes as they cannot cash in on it, it is a matter of madness, gambling is an urge in some from horse race to stock and i remember a lady from mumbai who came forward to help anyone interested in the subject, it is a matter of mind over issues. so though i am never in this field but will not agree as hands become dirty and all, then ambani's brothers lead here, and mittal and many others who gamble a lot and make thriving industries that bring in a lot of funds to the government....sunkan

    dear Sunkan,

In a way you are right. Som don't have the courage to take such risks. Iam one among them. I also appreciate Dhirubai Ambani and not the sons. Though iam not competent enough to do even a simple calculation I detest laying hands on sombody elses sweat. I swear. No way. I lend money to the extent of my shock limits. But never will I think of asking interest. However odd U may consider me to be. These are my honest statements. Even while posting a thread or reply to any of the postings I will not like to let down my conscience. happy on ur response. kanakatsk

    kanaka,

question to ponder...how much depends on where you think contentment will settle in your life...

The stock market looks too lucrative and pull is there for all...My banker when we were talking about housing loans, he was saying there are people who extend the term of the loan, reduce the emi, then get a personal loan ..not to pay some loan..only to speculate on the market.tsk

It is not the housewives in gujarat...i heard the leading hospitals in mumbai was sending messages to their patient to religiously have their medicines...

REcently heard that two guys from the it co..in chennai lost in crores in the speculations...

Playing the market is risk...Venture only if you have the risk taking capacity. and never speculate on borrowed money...

The market has helped a lot of people, I know few ladies who have grossed in crores..even some kids who took to it as a project earning their school fees...

(this i have been always discussing in the thread investing in stock discussions..)

Did you see the girl from SRCC getting 14 lacs a commerce graduate...yesterday...it was the highlighter...and 7 others also....
(though this looks like the companies are looking at loyality and attrition in the long run, it definitely is going to hurt the sentiments of other, the mba's , ca's..)

How much is a bottomless pit...it is a viscious circle...you have 10 you want 100 you have 100 you want 1000.......

may be i am boring you....again these are my thoughts...

    Hi Kanaka
How much money one needs – In philosophical views only which can buy one two chapattis or fills one’s stomach-
    – it depends how big a stomach can go in terms of money.
People are satisfied with two times bread & a roof over their head & people are not satisfied even if they are playing in crores ,living in palaces wearing dimonds & rolling in all the possible luxuries........ As shanvy said it is a bottamless pit.
It all depends on one’s mind set ,values of life & the hard work he is doing & of course luck & opportunities.
I personally think one shud have that much in which he/she can live with dignity & fulfill daily needs of life can give his/her children good education & settle them & live in old age comfortably.
    As kabirdas ji said appropriately
Sai itna dijiye jame kutumb samay
    Mai bhi bhukha na raho
    Sadhu na bhuka jaye !/spirtual
Give me that much in which I live comfortabley with my family & if any body comes for help to me I can help.
But today’s world is running after money & money, Honey apna sapna money money.
All the hard work students put in is with a vision to earn in laks right from the start of Job.
People talk of packages in lacs & crores.
Share market is one subject I have no much knowledge but I know in big cities and also in small town’s ladies that to housewives are doing share market.
Students are doing on internet to have pocket money.
But when one reaps the benefits one has to be prepare to bear the losses .
The only thing is when one wants to become crorpati in few days and gambles more than what he/she can bear to lose & wants a high jump than they crash down with equal force.
    Every action has a reaction.
But todays economy is much based on market. Market has come in our houses & so is the benefits & also losses.tsktsktsk

you have missed my point kanaka,
each one their own is what i meant, then the world over of economy and so many other aspects associated with this will collapse and there wont be commerce...sunkan

My husband has a cousin. At a very young age e had to take up the responsibility of marrying of his 6sisters. As a bank employee it was extremel to look after the family in addition to this. So he started investing in the share. Made money. Married of his sisters and made a home fo himself . Also got married to another banker.

The most beautiful part is the day he found himself secured he has stopped stock market business. He always says"Ithile ellam mana samadhanam erukkathu. Vere oru vazhi illayanal shari. Pakshe pettunu nirutharath naala du". And he did.

But how many of us can be like this? If we make 100Rs we think of 1000 and it goes.kanaka:idea
