    Ok, Sri,
With your green signal, assuming I too enter the confusion "arena" !
Already there is enough confusion about Atma & Soul in my vedanta forum ! Now the next confusion is between atma & anatma !
If I confuse too much, ladies will run away & I will be left "readerless". Well, Sri, I can now "read your wicked plot" !!
You want my posts to be "readerless"? - wish you hard luck !!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Jaanu
Thanks a lot! I find you an extremely agreeable person in the parameter of Disraeli. He said 'An agreeable person is one who agrees with me!':iagree

    Dear Chithra
Let that not bother you. It is ok to be readerless but it isdangerous to be 'rudderless'
A confusing person is acceptable but not one who is clueless about the direction in which he is going!

"But on the lighter Vain?/Vein....i enjoyed your write up on the reasonable and unreasonable ......i always call my hubby UnR...., and he in turn calls me the same!.....And i keep wondering who is what at such times!?"

    Dear Sudha
According to me, a couple who find each other unreasonable can make an extremely interesting pair! Counter accusations impart a lot of thril to a married life. It would be pretty dull if a couple agrees with each other other all the time and thus leaving no scope for any argument whatsoever. All this Lucknowi 'Pahle aap' stance can ruin the fun part of married life!

    Dear Sri,
"Lucknowi 'Pahle aap' are for ladies of yore ! You may ask, if I am not one of that generation! No, no, no.
We believe in equality, if not in "me first" with a charming "please" !
Now I hope you will not ask me about the fun part of married life, on account of that !
This is because you never stand any mild accusation about your friend.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Sir,
enjoyed reading the main post and its FBs.

Be a Roman in Rome and 'oorodu otthhu vaazh', these are heard when some acts unreasonably.
If you are reasonable you are taken for a ride by the unreasonable people.
Explaining any situation to them is a bonk
It is better to keep away from them--which will be reasonable, isn't it?

If some improvements are made by their 'unreasonable' acts--then their acts can be labelled as 'reasonable', right?

    Dear Sri
You have made a profound observation in saying
'If some improvements are made by their 'unreasonable' acts--then their acts can be labelled as 'reasonable', right?'!

We tend to forget that many of the comforts and rights that we enjoy today came through the efforts of people who were considered highly 'unreasonable' in their times.
I have heard that some of my ancestors used to be highly critical of the activities of our freedom fighters including Gandhi just because they affected their routine life!

Today's unreasonable man will surely be tomorrow's hero!

    Dear Sir,

This is the first time Iam coming into your ramblings. I totally :iagree with you.

Recently we had encountered a problem with our washing machine. No amount of pleadings could budge the people to come and replace the very new machine. finally I had to literally spit out fire and threatened to go to consumer court and also speak to their MD. And lo, the replacement is done immediately.

I have found out with my little experience, the saying "Kuniya kuniya kuthu vanga", very true. In the story of the Vijaynagar empire also, the founders of the dyanasty Hakka & Bukka saw a dog chasing a cat, when the cat runs on the now Hampi ruins, it turns back and glares at the dog. And the dog meekly runs back. This incident gave the Guru Vidyaranya insight to name the capital as Vijaynagar - Land of Victory. And the rest is History !!!

When people fight back only, they get what they want is very true:exactly::exactly:

    Dear Lalitha
Nothing can please an old man like me more than finding another willing listener to his ramblings! Welcome aboard and we'll have fun looking at the happenings around us!

That example of cat and the dog is very relevant to the subject we are discussing. Every one has some fighting spirit in him. In some people it becomes a dominating character due to various reasons and in some, it dies a natural death due to an entirely different set of reasons. Genes of course play a dominant role too. I'll give an example. I had a colleague in State Bank who hailed from Palghat. You can never predict what can provoke him to fury. We were always careful in our dealings with him. One day the Branch Manager rubbed him on the wrong side and this chap was blinded by fury. But for our timely intervention, he would have beaten the manager to pulp.

A few months later, I happened to visit Palghat with my friend. My friend narrated in detail the story of his face-off with the Manager and you know how the father reacted? He admonished his son for withdrawing from the fight on our advice and told him 'You should have shoed the beggar!'

That's what I meant by saying that genes too played an important role in this!
    Sri
