    Dear chith
bought a new eeya pathram recently after trading in my old one which turned brownish/dark on the inner side after 4+ years of constant use.I am so pampered I cannot think about making rasam in another vessel other than eeyam now:spin(Inspiration : our eeya chombu discussion in IL in 2007.:))
Just experienced the effect of sky rocketing price rise...today the cost of a 400gms pathram is approx rs.1000 at rathna stores usman road.:rant

    Tales apart..
How to maintain an eeya pathram without it getting discoloured on the inner side?
How and with what should I clean the vessel?
Are we supposed to transfer the rasam to another container after it reaches room temp? (I used to refrigerate the rasam in the eeyam itself and reheat it at night and I feel it could be a mistake!)

    regards
    Sowmya

    Dear Chitramma,
Your recipes are awesome. Can you please post a simple recipe of plain dal("mudda pappu" in telugu) made with toor dal. Also, can you please explain in detail on how to pressure cook the toor dal in a stainless steel pressure cooker( how many whistles ,how many cups of water for a cup of toor dal). This is the first i am using a steel pressure cooker, so kindly explain how to cook it without the dal sticking to the pan and getting burnt or undercooked.
    Thanks.
