I used to be 63-65 kgs before 2 years but due to thyroid I put on almost 20 kgs and I am around 83 kgs now. Ever since my weight increase this problem become worse... but it used to be even before...
And that problem is, I can't wear cotton or any other material chudidar as I am not comfortable wearing it. The reason is, when I wear it and even if I strech my legs or thighs little bit, the chudidar, no matter of how good stiching and material it is, it get tore from middle (the panty area) and I don't understand why? You may laugh at it but I am not joking. I just hate this situation. Maybe it happen due to my flabby thighs. It happens especially after wearing it I try to sit down. Wearing it doing chores, squating and sitting on 2 wheeler is just out of question. I am only comfortable in slawar and stretchable chudidar (leg-ins). But in cotton chudidars I am not comfortable. No matter how good material it is, it get tore from middle . But I have seen girls wearing even tight chudidars comfortably and also sitting on floor or squating and washing clothes and doing all chores comfortably. Seeing them I wonder why not me? I don't get it stiched so tight but still it happens and i don't know why?. I wonder if anyone else has to face such problem.... I really love cotton chudidars and knee lenght top and in that I even look slimmy than I am, but its as if I can't sit and stretch little bit wearing it.

Dear Rissy, There is nothing to laugh about it... I used to have this problem few years back. The issue is with the method of stitching. NExt time when you stitch pants, ask the tailor to leave more room in the hip/thigh area. Check out Patiala design pants, that would be good. Earlier I thought tight pants are not for me, but now I even wear pencil pants. Again, leave more room in hip/thigh area and tighten from the knee down.

On the other thought, this issue is not because of overweight. Its only because of stitching problem. Most of the tailors wont take pant measure properly as they do for the tops. They just check the height... Good tailors will even measure our hip/thigh size.. and those pants are very comfortable to wear...

    rissy,

this is a common problem..even my daughter who is thin gets her tracks/pants torn, though in her case it is overstretching herself..and others like ilovetulips says is because of the stitching..

actually there is a rhombus shape cloth is added to the pants size..this type of stitching is called something else..this is done when there is frequent tearing..get the salwars stitched with lot of materials gathered to give that comfort and also space for you to stretch.

go and get one stitched by giving measurements the hip, the thigh at the thickest....and that should help..even the readymade go for the patiala style pants..they are roomy...

Yes..what the above posts said is true...go to a good tailor and give your measurements properly...
If you are not comfortable with a male tailor then go to a lady tailor with whom you can explain your problem.. Dont worry, even i weigh 85kgs and still I'm comfortable wearing a chudidhar.. Its definitely not about weight, its just the problem in stitching..
    Good luck..

Thank u ladies, I think you all are right. Maybe its a stiching problem and as vasu said I think I need to find some female tailor. But earlier too I addressed the tailor about it but nothing improved. Maybe female tailor would help me but I need to find one. Thank u all

    Hi Rissy
I used to have this same problem...my tailor used to stitch the chudidars in such a way that it would be like a salwar till the knee and then like chudidars knee below. Only problem with this is you can't wear short kurtis as it would look funny!
But it used to be very comfortable and you can sit, squat..pretty much do anything you want. This style is actually called something, but I don't remember the name now..
    Hope this helps.
