    Hi all,

Can somebody tell me how to store all the kanjivaram silk sarees? I heard we should not hang them and it is better to fold them and keep it. But should we simply fold them or should it be wrapped with something?...I have wrapped them with newspaper as my friend said it should be wrapped with paper. Is that okay? It would be nice if all of you could tell me how you keep the silk sarees in your wardrobe...

And also how do you people maintain them? Like how often do you wash it? and how often do you iron it?..Once we wear it once for an occasion, the saree gets crumpled and definitely needs to be ironed, but my MIL says it is not good to iron the saree often. But how do we wear it again without ironing as it is so crumpled?! :confused2:

Please pour in your valuable suggestions...!!

    Thank you...

    Cheers,
    Radhee.

    Hi,
our member Krishnamma has given about all this in her blog. Visit krishnamma's blog,
    you will get all details.

Nowadays, cotton saree covers are available in Chennai for Rs.50. In them you can store silk sarees. They have a see thro plastic on one side so that you can see inside also. I use that to store my sarees.

    Hi,
If the saree is a new one
    1.Remove the cover.
2.Put it in any soft cloth(preferebly in dhotis)
