    Hi Mals,

With you present as a part of audience, I am very comfortable describing the gimmicks happening in the corporate world. Well, if somebody raises an issue saying that, "Well, sridhar, that couldn't happen. It's simply unbelievable.", I will have you, Malspie, telling them that you are actually seeing it in flesh and blood. And for me in this area, I am just writing down what is happening and what is most likely to happen.

The wait is equally anxious for me too, Mals.

    regards,

Yes, Varloo. I wrote this episode from what I saw and what I have been seeing in high places. A few years ago I saw one of the nastiest affairs happening in the corporate world.

And this husband-wife not having time to meet each other is a routine occurence in high places.

One thing we should understand, Varloo. The tastes, preferences and values are not the same at all classes. What we all deem it as pleasures of life are not considered so in high places. For them the real pleasure is earning a few millions of Rupees by taking over a company or doing something similarly harsh.

One thing we should learn from this episode is that we should never fall for money, however big it may be.

    Thanks for the fb, Varloo.
    regards,

    Re: Part 7!

    Dear Sridhar,
I have joined here late but then along with your fast moving story line, I had the added advantage of going through the fbs. There is nothing more I can add that has been left unsaid in all those great Fbs!
On my personal views, I have always loved stories that have moved smoothly except for little difficulties here and there and then a fairy-tale end. But here I am witnessing the happenings of a corporate world which I have usually come accross in the western stories like those of Sidney Sheldon, Robert Ludlum, Irving Wallace and their lot. I used to enjoy reading them as a young woman but then I got fed up of the slush and wickedness of the human minds and thanked God that there were no such things in this part of the globe. But alas, how ignorant have I been ( or should I say I took the people of this culturally rich country for granted?).
But whatever that is happening to the characters in your story are very real in these days with money taking the front seat pushing the moral values to the nadir. On the whole I feel sad about the happenings and may be you should start lacing your future episodes with some humour like in Tamil movies to allow us to take a breather and also to digest the realities!
BTW, I have finished reading 'Manase, Manase, Kadhvai Thira. it was great but then again, I want to say that you have really polished your story writing skills in your recent stories. I have seen a similar character in real life very recently like the Chitthappa character of that story who ,in the garb of a samiyar is all into wicked things. And would you believe the incident happened to some one known to me and I was shell-shocked!Worst still, that woman fell into the trap set by that samiyar! She seemed to be mesmerised by him!
I am reading the other book, 'Jannal'. Iruvadu Varuda Kelviyin vidai was very touching. Ore Araiyil does highlight the weakness of human minds in a beautiful way. The rest I am yet to read. On the whole your stories are an eye opener for people like us. The harsh realities do strike at our raw nerves and hurt, but then that is the world!

    Re: Part 7!

    Dear Malathi,

Thanks a ton for the detailed fb the lines of which came directly from your heart. If you promise you wont tell other ILites, I'll tell you this, that I too am not interested in all these horror stories. I have read Sheldon, Frederick Forsyth and Hailey. I always read the last page first and then read the novel. I don't see movies which have a tragic ending.

But what's happening in HE is part of today's corporate reality. Even sitting in a place like Madurai I can say for sure that what's happening in reality is far worse than this.

Recently I read about the case of two Senior Doctors in a Mumbai Hospital. The Dean Post became vacant and one of the two had to be promoted. There was a violent competition. At this time one of the competitors had a heart attack and it so happened that the other had to perform a bypass surgery on him. While doing the surgery the surgeon deliberately committed a mistake in choosing the type of sutures in such a way, that the person operated upon will live for 4 to 6 weeks without any problem and then die just like that. Because an alert nurse blew the whistle this incident has come to light.

And thanks for the review of Manase and Jannal. Manase was written more than two years ago. And I am happy to hear from you that my writing skills have improved. It is in no small measure due to the quality fb I receive from ILites like you.

Please hurry up and finish the books. The next books are due within two weeks.

    Regards,

Welcome back, Kripa. I was missing you all these days. Good that you have opted to join us on board now.

Yes, Kripa, being in this profession I have been seeing quite a lot of people with skewed priorities. I have a father and son as my clients. Both used to be very rich, but now they are declining. But even in this state the father does not see son as such. There is so much of in-fighting and back-hitting between son and the father. When I found some lame excuse I used that to quit the relationship. It was quite sickening for me to hear the son asking me, "What did Dad ask you?" And then the father would call up and say, "My son will ask you this. Don't do that. "

I let the story unfold by itself. Let's see where Sharada and Sethu are going to take us.

Happy that you got back the p/w. But Kripa even if you do miss it and you can ask some one to retrieve the password for you or assign you a new password. Next time you are stuck like this, just send a pm to me. I'll take care of that. Forgetting the password should not become a reason for not visiting this great site.

    Love,

Dear Sridhar Sir, I read the episodes 5, 6 and 7 only today as my system was down for about 15 days and as we were busy with Bakrid and Christmas holidays. So finally u have introduced the villians in both the timelines and i wonder what is in store for Sharada and Priya and Madhavan. I sometimes feel why these stories should have villains at all. It is frustrating. Interesting narration in the three episodes. I just enjoyed reading and couldn't stop in between. Mythili is a real notorius character. The other side of Sharada made me really sad. Very few successful ladies have supportive husbands. Priya should have been more careful with the lawyer. We don't know what he is up to. Can't wait to read the next episode.

    Dear Sujatha,

Why should we have villains at all? A million dollar question. I could have given the thousands of answers any writer would give. Yes, without villains, you can never build up a story. Without the villain, you cannot build what we writers call "the knot" in the story. And the list goes on.

But the best explanation I had was from my daughter. I was going through one of the most turbulent times just a few days back. I confessed to my daughter, why should this happen to me?Why should at all there be a bad time or a villain? Why should I be down?

She told me that unless you go through tough times you will never know the value of good times. In other words if there is no villain in the story, the story will become so soft, that the hero will start looking like a villain.

I think that is the whole logic. Have trust in me Sujatha. I have not so far nor will I ever take my readers to the land of despair. Any further assurance would amount to killing the suspense.

In fact I thought I might not post the next episode this Saturday. As I had not written anything till this morning. But fortunately I could grab a few hours tonight and have finished HE 8. So hopefullly you can read HE 8 in less than 30 hours.

    regards,

    Re: Part 7!

    Dear Malathi,

Thanks for the interest evinced in my new books. I talked to my publisher today. I now hear that my translation draft of Osho's book has been approved by the Osho Foundation. They have completed the cover design and final proof reading.

The book is entitled மனிதனின் புத்தகம் . It will be available at the Chennai Book Fair from 4th January. If you want to play it really safe, you can go there some 3, 4 days after that. You can also get the book from the Publisher's office at T Nagar. (Kavitha Publications : 044 - 24364243)

The other book is a collection of my motivational essays. About 17 of them appeared in Dinamalar-Varamalar during March to July 2007. There are 33 more essays. Every essay is just an incident which has some lesson in it.
This book is called now, நம்பிக்கை தரும் தன்னம்பிக்கை.
    Availability details are the same.
    regards,
