subha, crochet or knitting?? crochet the simple hdc will make it close and cozy and easy too.. knitting, moss stitch/basket stitch easy and warm.

z4, here the pattern leaves the size of the hook to the crocheter as it gives you a option of choosing your yarn. and moreover a stitch my each individual differs in tension.

so using the guage given that is 20dc and 10 rows making a 1 inch , the hook that allows you to get this guage is the hook you use.

Search Teresa Richardson crochet in youtube, she has loads of tutorial and very easy to understand. her username is tjw1963.

 

hi shreesujatha, to IL and Crafts Forum. you can do a search in youtube for crochet tutorial videos.

Many fancy shops sells crochet hook. If you don't get it there, surely you will get in Raja Stores in T.Nagar. If you ask anyone will be able to guide you there.

Buy some 3 or 4 different hook sizes & keep with you. Practice with wool yarn which will be easy for you in the beginning. Once you get the co-ordination between your fingers, you can try with cotton yarn. Best wishes and happy crocheting.
