MY SWEET HEART As I sat on the steps in a melancholic mood the river caressing my feet softly... the gentle breeze, the cool water creating a hypnotic spell…. As I look upwards at the twilight sky the huge ball of fire Spreading its flares across the horizon bathing the sky in a vermilion hue…. The huge ball resembling my lover’s bindi And her crimson saree spread over the entire expanse……….. Oh! What a lovely sight to behold!!!! Her fair skin glowing in the deep crimson colour intermingled with gold making her glow …. And her fiery eyes sparkling her rosy lips showing her pearly white teeth.. With her bhulakku* swaying gently as her lips broaden to give a sweet smile….. Her dark hair spreading itself merging with her crimson drape... Enveloping the entire length & breadth in a passionate embrace As I yearn for her in the enveloping darkness; Mocking me with her disappearance making me cry in pangs of separation.. As my eyes become wet, A cool light engulfs the night Bringing in the much needed solace As she emerges in a different avatar The coolness which she radiates… Contradicting the fiery vision Draping herself in pure white And the tresses merging in the darkness Her eyes twinkling like little stars Oh my dear! Why are you making me cry? Is it sheer happiness on seeing you? Or is it that I am unable to reach you? You are my soul, my entire being; Without you I am none Oh my sweet heart, allow me to be at your feet, seeing your lovely face... Take me in a sweet embrace Smother me with the divine kiss And crush me in your arms And make me one with you This is my only desire, Sole purpose to be alive; Thinking of you always Pining for you….. Take me in your fold Oh my lord! My sweet heart Oh my Rajeshwari! * bhulakku = a nose ornament worn between the nostrils
Just was able to recollect a bit of Soundarya Lahari and Akilandeshwari thuthi, when I read this Lalitha madam. Enjoyed reading this. Thanks. -rgs
Dear Lalithaji, Nice poem with your experience with divinity......you are blessed to experience the bliss of Abhirami bhattar..... Thanks for sharing ......
Dear Rgs sir, I think you forgot our pact of not addressing each other with a suffix Thanks a lot for your kind visit and you really touched my heart with such a lofty praise...I am not worth even an iota of the same.
Dear Knbg, Where is Abhirama Bhattar and myself.... I just cannot come near the speck of dust on his feet. Thanks a lot for the kind visit and words dear. You made my day
Dear Lalitha, Fell in love with your subtle, suave and swashbuckling verses, to the extent I did not keep a count on how many times I had read it! SUPREME VERSES that truly brings out your love for HER.. I'm sure it must have indeed been our Ma who has crept inside you while you were writing this! Saras.
Dear Lalitha... Your Love for her has come out so nicely that even my heart wants to sing in unison with you.. Oh MY Hrudayeshwari come n take thy child you have left so far I am tired of crying forever ...
Dear Saras, Thanks is a small word but I do not have any other word too. Your call, your comment just made me very emotional. I am really not sure how I wrote this poem.. Each word came on its own and found their place there. My bow to you my dear...thanks once again.
