    Hi Lata..
We already know each other in another thread...weight loss group chennai...
I'm silent reader of this forum and I've the same prob as u have....with skipping rice...

Your body seems to work as mine and I'm also not determined as you are ...

I had been exercising vigorously...(I used to spend nearly 700 calories a day) but I did not take up any diet plan...I ate happily thinking i exercised more and so I would lose down tremendously and to my great astonishment and disappointment I lost only 2 Kilos at the end of 3 months...but my body got toned...I was upset soooooooooooo.... much and left everything all of a sudden...and gained back what I lost...

So what I understood was I need diet control and exercise together.I recently substituted rose matta rice for white rice ...that too by boiling method..take off all starch and it seems to work for me...

I eat almost whole grains instead of simple carbohydrates...I just do simple walking 30 mins a day...no vigorous exercises...

Oats is another good alternative for me...I use it instead of rice...especially at night...mix sambar or rasam or morekulambu...anything you would for rice....and beleive it or not it is really filling...Try to stay away from Idly, dosai (I mean made with whire rice)...

Your exercise regime is really good...but if u take a little effort I think you can achieve what u want..

(I read in one of your posts that you have thyroid problem and now low blood sugar...so consult with your doc before you make any drastic diet changes)

Eat well but dont stuff up...eat in small quantities now and then...drink lotsa water...

    Hi All,

I am very happy to post that i lost 4 lbs in 1 month 10 days.I have noticed slight change at my waist part.I am not doing vigorous dieting but reduced the quantity intake.Just want to share my diet..

Breakfast at 8.30AMcerels with 1/4 cup milk and 1 cup tea.
Lunch at 12.30PM 1 or 11/2 cup rice with veg or dal and curd
Evening at 4PM small fruit and 1 cup tea.
Dinner at 7.30PM 3 chapati with veg curry.

I think having dinner early makes lot of difference. If i crave for food like cake or ice cream i am just having one or two bites of it, that makes myself satisfied. Please friends suggest me whether is it correct?

    Hi Aabhi,
Hope you are fine now and back with regular diet and excercise.

    Hi Tulasi,
    congratulations to you.

    Hope everybody doing great.

    Hi Girls,

Thanks Aabhi for the boost. I guess all the posts here have fed me some determination to do it. Yes I can do it.... Well Ive made certain changes to my diet, pls pls advice if Im gng on rite track.

As soon as I get up - 1 bottle water. Then I dont hv anything fr an hr.
8 am - Green tea with little sugar and no milk (yukee at first butt will get used to it I guess)

Between 9.30 and 10am - 1 Egg sandwich / 1 bowl cornflakes with very little milk and sugar.

11.30 am- Workout time. Few sit ups and others + dumbells for that fat in my upper arms. (I do have a fat upper arm bonk)

1.45 pm - 1 cup rice with littel dahi, curry and side veg dish.

    An apple at 6 pm.

    9.30 pm - 2 thin dosha/ 2 idilis / 2 chapatis / 3 pooris / something like that with chutney / veg curry.

Finally to add, I drink lots of water every hr.

Thats it. How do u think it is. Will I be able to loose some of that fat? Do I need to mk any modifications?

    Pls all advice!!!

    Sindhu

    Hi Lata,

I know u get instant Oats in Chennai..if u have a microwave the job is that easy....see for the box instructions...I think even Quaker brand is available there....

So prepare Oats according to package directions...so that is the rice for me...I happen to like pongal a lot...so its kinda like pongal for me and so I mix..sambar or rasam or more kulambu or vathakulabu......once u try u can standardise...aviod rice products especially at night and have u r dinner before 7...

    Hope this helps..Happy dieting...

    Hi Sheshin,
Good job, congrats :2thumbsup: I think your diet seems to be right. only thing I would tell you don't deprive of any food you want to eat..if you do so..In the long term it's very difficult to maintain..main thing is eating small portions is doing wonders for me...I am checking my weight once a month but I could see lot of changes....
    All the best great going:thumbsup

    Hi Sindhu,
Your diet seems to be good. only thing I suggest you, where ever you can avoid white sugar..you should! Insted of that you can add fruit or raisins or dates in your cereal! also try to make white rice to brown or parboiled rice white bread, pasta to whole wheat,pasta..I think that should do...
    All the best:thumbsup

Its really v good u join into our group. Here v hv lot of encouragement, motivation and also lot of information n exchange of views n what not............u get everything.

first of all u mention yr diet programme n wil receive some suggestions etc, whatever is required in yr case.

U start doing some yoga exercises, pranayama is really v v useful for losing abdomen fat n figuring the structure. first follow small exercises with pranayama n slowly u increase the exercises..then u really find some change in yr figure. OK all the best Start now itself. Best of luck.
