    Dear Kaku..
well.. what to say ... I had to muffle my laughter whilst reading..... your paradox of the barber was A+++++.... thoroughly enjoyed....
no wonder kakima is not too sympathetic when the bull chased you... after all she does deserve to be serenaded on a beautiful moonlight night..
tell me do all Bengali male generally lack sensitivity towards their wives sentiments?????
well.. glad to know that my hubby is not the only one.. I can now blame it on genetic deficiency!!!!

    Dear Kerman:

Don't be unfair to your husband. I am sure he has his own way of expressing his feelings for you. You will understand him if you listen carefully, or better, watch with care. I am surprised you know. The ladies here liked this story, they didn't consider me an mcp. They enjoyed the joke but chided me at the same time.

How would a Bengali women's libber react to this post? Let me quote what a lady I know wrote to me over email after reading this.

"The story has a supercilious note of men's attitudes and ability to discourse on thousand and one subjects under the sun, while women always seem to on an emotionally overwhelming moonlight eve crave to hear endearing words from her beloved. Your Sankari could have been sporting and carried on the conversation on stars, the components of the universe and linguistic paradoxes and your protagonist turning emotional instead.

Bengali literature abounds on such like stories where women being emotional and sentimental are hurt and bewildered as their husbands discoursed on abstruse subject while the full moon shone in vain.

After all it had been for a long time the male prerogative predominantly to wax eloquent about love, emotions moonlight and such other things. So why should be it obligatory to change tracks and ignore the full moon?"

Dear Kerman, do you have an opinion on this opinion? :)

    Kaku

P.S. Btw, I loved your signature.

    Dear Kamal:

Having people like Cheeniya, Balajee or you as competitors is an honour. But you are right. I wouldn't have taken part in this competition but for you. It was you who brought me here and it is your patience with me that makes me continue.

Regarding re-posting, Cheeniya tells me that IL rules don't allow reposting. The only way of "re-posting" is to write a short fb to the post you wish to bring forward. Then it comes to the top and people get to know about it. I want to bring up some of my posts this way, but feel embarrassed to do it myself.

I have written many more, but I think I spent more effort on these than the others. It is possible that some ILites will like them, though some of them are longish.

    Love.
