A good dry cleaner is the best way to go.. They would have dealt with such stains previously and would know what to do.

Vanish on Kanchipattu saree??!! Is it safe?

There could be various reason for a stain to not go, as in once a stain is there one should never let it dry,, as the stain dries it becomes stubborn, I suggest one should immidiately soak it over nite and then try removing it depending on what kinda stain is it. Detergents are never good for stains as it spoils the texture of the cloth and even the color. I have never tried vanish but heard it from a friend that it is actually good for mud and ink stains.

I tried all but eventually it spoils the texture of the cloth and also makes the color of the cloth bad :(

Do not use harsh detergents and aalla , use any of the stain removal product. There are many available out there.
