    Dear ILites,

I wonder how many of you are watching Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyon - Zee TV serial. I watch it regularly. The theme is good and the cast and acting are worth watching. I think it is nearing its end. But, there are some intruging questions.

    1. Whatever has happened to Rasik Bhai? He seemed to be staying in Garodia Niwas and last seen he came from a side door to advise Menaka 'Shatham, Dhairyam' etc.

    2. They call Lakshmi character as Jhansi ki Rani. But, she is not doing anything to justify that. On the contrary she is shown terror stricken by Karan.

    3. It is too much the way Kajri has been having her way and all others are shown as impotent in front of her. Still how many episodes she will be doing like this?

    4. Garodia parivar have taken shelter in Savithri's house and more and more people are getting added. How do Saraswathi and her husband manage to feed so many?

If you have any comments to the above, please enlighten me.

    Regards,

    Dear TDU,

    I have a comment!

When they create these soaps, they are not using their brains!! So, we should not tax our gray cells thinking about them!!! They are pure Time-Pass...Or....pure Time-Kill!!
    Hope you agree?:biggrin2:

    Hello TDU Sir,

I have not watched the serial you mention since I don't have Zee tv. But i do find one thing that both tamil and hindi serials seem to have in common, after reading your post. No logicbonkbonk, and lots of unanswered questions.... Not sure if this is the case with all Hindi serials. But in Tamil .. its awful... I remembered the serial Selvi, which got finished with lot of answered questions. Sometimes thalayai pitchikunom polairrukum. These directors are under some opinion that we folks don't have brains!!! See , how they have left so many unanswered qs in this serial you have mentioned.

That having said, I love the few I watched on a Zee tv free preview, mainly because i feel that the NI have a better fashion sense. Their costumes are very good. Compared to Tamil serial, i find a very drab dress sense. what do you think?

I think the plot is developed episode by episode keeping in mind the TRP rates. The deliberate twists and turns speak for themselves.

    Dear Vandana,

I fully agree with you. The Hindi serials show gorgeous sets, glittering costumes and even songs, dance etc. But, the camera shots are irritating when they flash hundred times from left, from right etc. It is amusing to see their techniques. In a scene, people all will assemble and immediately after the dialogue is spoken by one the camera will pan from person to person as if to show their reactions. Many characters give the same expression repeatedly. Tamil serials are different in these aspects. The costumes in Tamil serials are not as impressive as in Hindi serials and there is lot of melodrama. The Tamil mega serials are the butt of jokes in magazines, Tamil movies etc. But, still people like me watch them since they are like reading serial stories bringing some new twists and turns however absurd they may be. Last month I went to New Jersey to visit my sister who has come from Mumbai to be with her daughter. After some initial talks my sister went silent and seemed to be missing something. I realised that it must be the Tamil serials in Sun TV. Since my niece is not getting Sun TV in her cable TV, she has missed several episodes. I watch these episodes through internet forums. So, when I started describing what is happening in Kolangal, Anjali etc. my sister came alive and started asking various questions.

    Dear meenu,

You are absolutely right. Depending on TRP rates even some characters are ended abruptly or some new characters are brought. Thanks for visiting the thread and posting your comments.

    Hello TDU sir
I do watch most of the time this serial . Actually I dont imagine any family can have a DIL like Kajri becoz any such females if given the chance for a good respectable life wud not want to be still like kajri along with her menter rasili bai neither any son wud be like that much blind to the tactis of kajari .
Actually all these serials start with a good theme & story but with passage of time they forget thier real theme & all come to same ultra dramatic drammas having almost similar themes in any serial ,like one very much dedicated person usually wife ,two or three very cunning bad persons like kajri ,karan, menka etc .
Dont u think any women who has four daughter wud stand silent to second marrige of her husband & live in the same house with so much insults & humiliation like savitri - atleast not todays women wud I hope!.
Laxmi is no Jhansi ki rani ,all she want is to be a wife to Karan knowing that he is planning against her father she is not able to do any thing.
Have u not thought how odd it is that laxmi is married & durga & gouri who are elder to her as she call them didi are still not & their family is not worried abt it.
There are so many points u can keep discussing abt.
    Regards
    Jasihree
