    hi Punitha,

I'm also having major tooth ache, because my wisdom tooth is coming in. My cheek, jaw and gums are swollen. I just talked to my dentist and he said to take Motrin and do warm salt water rinses. I also have an appt. in two days, where he is going to decide if he needs to take the tooth out.

Please, tell me if anybody has had this experience and how they handled it and if there are any other home remedies. I still have 2 days for the appt. and its very hard to eat anything. Thanks for the input in advance.

    Tab Metrogyl 400mg
    Tab Rancet - S- Torcoxia - P
Cap Wymox - Flemiclox - MB 250 mg

All tabs 1 in the morn and 1 at night after food. She will get relief from the pain and if there is any puss formed, it will heal. This is time being solution.

    Hi Puni,

Try applying clove oil...take a few drops in a cotton and place it near the aching tooth.

    Roopa.

Be warned...take just a few drops and not soak it in oil...otherwise she will have adverse effect.

    Roopa.

    Hey Puni,

Just cut a slice of raw onion and ask her to hold in the place where it is painful..the pain will subside...this is only temporary relief..

I would say no to over the counter as she is highly diabetic...take care

    Dear Puni,

Sorry to note that your mil is in pain. You mention that she has 'traveler's insurance'. That should cover her toothache treatment. Such insurances cover things that occur here, but not the 'already existing ailments'. It will not cover her diabetic ailments as she has had it prior to her visit to US. There is no harm in calling your family practitioner and mention the situation and ask for advice.
In the meantime, try the natural remedies suggested here. Also, oral hygiene is very important and she should gargle her mouth with Listerine or similar stuff and clean her teeth and mouth after every meal. If food particles are stuck in gum, it can cause infection.
    Best of luck.

    L, Kamla
