    Dear Supriya,

Life's greatest asset is EDUCATION on which you can fall back at any given time of your life. Career may not be of your choice but the bread at home is baked forever. What happens if your spouse dies a premature death??? Education stands like a mountain behind you and help you pull the threads from thereon. And above all COURAGE is very important to rock your life. Courage is gone everything is gone is a small saying which keeps popping up in my mind. For me the only vital part of life is Education. For people who are not qualified I have seen them desperately trying to make both ends meet when their spouse die. Why death, it can be separation through divorce or for any other reasons, Education helps to rock..

My turning point in my life is my marraige with my dear hubby. I discontinued my education, i left my parents, sisters, i left my good job,i didnt pack a bag from my house, nor i took blessings and my hubby accepted me and now i am happily married for 6 years and blessed with a beautiful daughter. So in my life turning point is my marriage with my hubby. It is very rare to find a good hubby who has no bad habits, who is loving, caring, sacrificing, compromising and his unconditional love for me and my daughter, i am so happy that out of all god' s gift, my hubby is the greatest gift for me and next comes my daughter. Now everyone is happy and accepted us whole heartedly. So my turning point is the day that i met him first not knowing that it is the turning point.

Malspie, i agree that education is important but it cannot be turning point unless time and luck is also with you, may be according to your explanation it is turning back point, that is when everything goes wrong then you can depend on your education to stand on your own, of course for everything in life you need courage. You can say education is a turningpoint only if it helps to improve your life not just to meet the ends. I know many who has got good education but unless your time is good, you cannot say it as turning point. Education gives you confidence, courage and there is something called fate which plays a bigger role. I know so many educated, qualified people who still suffer. There are uneducated and well to do and there are educated and still suffering. Education can give you confidence and it is will power, determination that is required more. Even if one s not educated and there time is good, they can use their skills and surely they can meet their ends. Now the question is not meeting the ends. You are saying that if education is there, there is no end whereas husband can die, kids can have prematured death, so all these turning points are not real turning points. What if someone gets a disease and forgets everything, then where does education takes you that time. If we have to think negative, then i can think also like this. What if i have education and dont get the right oppurtunity and evenif i get a good job and it is not according to my qualification and experience, i just take it to meet the ends and not happily, it fulfills financial needs not happiness.

Malspie - I am not a great writer like you. I accept that whether it is a girl or boy, education is a must to survive in this world. Turning point depends from individual to individual. Whatever i have talked here, i have talked generally, but sometimes i used i or you, but i am not meaning you and me. As i said i just want to put my views here and i dont have a good writing skills. So if you are thinking that turning point like marriage, kid has an end and education is only which exists always, then you are wrong.

    Hi all,

Turning point in life... What happens if your spouse dies a premature death???... Education.....

I will tell a real life story of a person here... This question reminded me of that lady... I was working in Apex Planters Association on deputation... There was one Doctor (PhD.)... Specialized in plantations... Nice thorough gentleman... He was blessed with 3 sweet kids... Wife is normal metric....I had a good rapport with him and went to his house, had lunch/dinner etc... Even after I moved out when I visited that area, went to his house and met him... After few years, all of a sudden I came to know that he had cancer and had huge treatment and passed away... Hearing this I was shocked... Thinking of his family and kids... The association on compassionate grounds gave that lady some job.... The lady who's husband was in a big position and enjoying the luxuries in that association was forced to work for her bread & butter there itself...

But the lady took up the challenge and still working there... I was forced to go officially to that Association after a long time... I didn’t have the courage to see that lady eye to eye... What can I tell her...? No amount of words is going to help her loss and the sufferings she has gone through... I was wondering, whether I should meet her, what I should say... Should I have to console her... or praise her efforts...? I was in a big dilemma... But that lady on hearing that I have come there came to see me and enquired about my family and explained what she is doing for her kids and all…her daughter is completing her engineering this year, has already got a job. The son is also doing engineering….. I had absolutely no words for that..... All salutes to her....

We don’t know what will happen when... Education or no education... it is immaterial... It is the courage that counts... It is the efforts which matters... It will pull us up... We can come out successfully….

Necessity is the mother of all Innovations… When we need things, we find innovative ideas to achieve or meet our requirements… We can keep on quoting various examples for the success of uneducated people... It is not the education… It is the circumstances/opportunities and the mental courage of the person concerned which counts…

This is absolutely my personal experience and personal opinion…

    Dear SupriyaDinesh,

This is a nice and interesting topic. To me, the turning point in career came when I got the post-doctoral fellowship in 2003. It has enabled me to go around the world and now to come closer to my children who are working in U.S. New places, new people have given an exciting life to me. More freedom at work, better recognition and a scope to work as long as physically possible which are not there in India have made me very active. But, I would like to point out that when one gets a turning point which is like the opening of a door, God closes another door. In other words one should remember that you can't have the cake and eat it too. More aptly said in Hindi ' Kuch paane keliye kuch kona padutha hai'. In my case, it is the lonely life since my wife could not join me.

    Regards,

    TDU

    Hey
I am glad my experience invoked you include motherhood in your list of turning point in life. It's a position every married women yearn. We can do anything, be anything but once we are married, we think like a mother. Our motherly instincts starts when we take care of our husband and his family. It only gets passionate when we have our own walking living cells out of us. What an amazing thing to experience in life!! And we should be PROUD to be a Women, shouldn't we!!!! And also i would like to mention here is, once we start showing up during pregnancy, people start inferring about the sex of the baby! It only irritates me to no end! Whatever the child is, it's created out of two people's love.Who are other's to judge that! I am sorry if have deviated, but not only in the remote places of our rural area, also in the city, people have this prejudiced view. I beg them to stop these kind of things. God save them!!!!!
