Beaten Egg in Milk??

    Hi,
    My son,1 yr and 8 months old, doesnt take egg in any form..!!
    In the morning, first thing he wants is milk and he still takes it in bottle.So for the past 3 days I am giving one beaten egg with the milk and since it is through the bottle...he drinks it without any qualms...!!
    My worry is ...Is it ok to give beaten egg everyday with milk for a 20 month old kid!!??

    Or any other suggestions..???

    dear jaya,do you give your child raw beaten egg?in that case you shuold not because raw eggs harbour many infections, best is to give full boiled or properly cooked eggs.you can mash a full boiled egg to a coarse granular form and add that to rice or any curry. Humera.

    Hi Humerarouf,
    Yes...For the past 1 week I started giving him raw egg beaten with milk!!
    If i make a scramble or boil n mash it with rice..he takes just a few spoons!! And the few spoons of egg he takes is mayb once in 3 days or so!!!
    I dint know that raw egg cld harbour infections!!

    as far as i know i dnt think there is any problem in giving one beaten egg in milk daily for your kid..even im giving it for my daughter who is 21 mnths old..she also akes it in bottle..egg is really good for kids..she wont take egg in any other form so her peadiatrician suggested this..so i think its okay..

    Hi Smitha,
    I have'nt consulted my kid's paed till now regarding this!
    But my Mom used to give my bther egg in this form when he was young...I never used to like beaten egg when i was a kid...at the most i might have the yolk when boiled.As per my mom's suggestion I was giving him beaten egg with milk!!!
    But many say 'naatu motta' is good..(since ur from TVM-kerala,u must be familiar with this word).
    I am trying to get hold of someone who can supply that,so that it is better than the normal egg that we get in shops!!!

    I think when you use hot milk with beaten egg, you should be Okay. Even i and my brother had beaten eggs in milk when we were young. But still i have not tried that with my son who is 23 months old.
