I'm planning to bring my mum on a visitor visa.

I think she can get a 1 month visa easily from India, without paperwork from us either. Do any of you know if she needs to stay for 3 months or longer, what the process is for an extension?

I've been trying to search on the immigration page for info on Social Visit pass, but couldnt find anything specific. Any of you had a similar situation and know the process? Thanks....

    hi dsouza..

you can bring your mother from India on a social visit pass for a maximum 3 months. Please contact any travel agency in India, and they will help you on the visa.

If you want to extend for more than 3 months, you have to meet the officer at Malaysia Immigration department after she has come here.

Please contact me in case you need more details:thumbsup

hi , im snow, just like to ask some help, my husband will be going to malaysia this august , the company he's working here in the philippines asked him to do a project in malaysia for about 4-6months, i would like to go with him, what will i do? should i enter malaysia as a tourist and then just file for an extension or should we file it here first in the philippines before going to malaysia? which is less hassle and inexpensive?

hope you could help me with this :)

    thanks :)

    hi snow..

You can come here with a tourist visa, then convert your visa into spouse visa.. Which allows the expats to stay along with husband. Please contact the malaysian immigration at phillipines or cal the malaysian immigration phone number, they would help you over phone!

Doing the spouse visa in philipines itself is not possible i gues! I m not sure

    Hi Dsouza,

I have just figured out the process and it is pretty simple.....
    1. Go to the Indian High Commission office next to citibank building / bank of china building in town and make a Relationship Affidavit, this will need one application form fill it and u can collect the affidavit within 3 working days.

    2. Visit the website www.imi.gov.my and chk papers for social visit pass

after u have all the necessary documents from the company and the passport copy of ur mum( all pages) take them to the MIDA office in Plaza Central 1 Building.........they will give u some token number which u can check online for the visa to be ready

within 3 working days they will call or sms u if ready and then u can collect the sealed envelope from there and courier to ur mom if in india or else just take her along to stamp on the passport.

    3. The sealed envelope along with ticket copy, photographs one time visa fee etc needs to be taken to the malaysian embassy in india they will stamp one time visa entry on the passport.

    4. If she is in india within 7 days of arrival go to the MIDA office again and get the stamp of long term stay on the passport......

    sorted.........

    Sonu
