Weight Loss team - To shed weight permanently

    hi all,

    A right topic at the right time for us , i guess,

    Yes very much need to do the same,

    But i have successfully lost 4 kgs in the last 2 months and inches too...
    ask why??? i did this course called Siddha samadhi Yoga ( SSY) which is pranayams and the best is to eat Raw Food for 10 days continously and becoz u do the pranayams , trust me, its easy................

    So that and also gym helps me.................now i am on atleast 40% raw food ( as in salads, sporuts, raita's and fruits........... No to sugar and milk also ...............

    You can kep doing it on and off, but the best thing taht works is the calorie counting......... of the food that we consume everyday............. if we are aware of that, the weight loss stays...............or it just bounces back or swings and the worst case is joining a Gym and suddenly stopping it...............u can see double tyres on your body............consistency is imp.

    all the above negative things that i have said is becoz i have done all wrong things and now its difficult to lose, but yes patience and hard work pays off, but guys, get into Raw food esp in the night...dinner time, you will feel light..

    OOSHA - 79 kgs now , 5 ft 3 inch........... age 40 ( oopsy!!)

    Lets do it ladies..................... share the remedies and also the side effects.......... lets explore.

    I've been a regular reader of all the threads in this forum "Keep Fit & Maintain Shape". Many of our IL friends have given tons of tips, diet charts, exercise programme, herbal medicines....... and what not. On behalf of all of us, I would like to thank those IL's who has shared with us those useful tips. Although, we've got the details that we wanted for weight loss and we all know the path to weight loss (our main goal) - I think many of us (including me) are not succeeding in it. The main reason for our failure is lack of Motivation.

    Therefore, I opened up this thread for those IL who wanted to loose loads of weight PERMANENTLY to join hands together and form a close team to motivate ourselves and keep moving till we all achieve our targets. We all know, how it pains to be Overweight/Obese and we all very well understands the serious effects of overweight....... which is diabetes, Blood pressure, Cholestrol, heart attack, arthritis,..etc. We do not want to fight with these chronical diseases instead let's try to tackle the biggest factor "OVERWEIGHT" and did not give a chance for these diseases to near us.

    Alright friends - Let's form a team, let's all decide on the following:

    1) Daily diet chart :- No need for crash courses, no need to starve, no need to stop rice or roti. Because that's all temp solutions, let's all discuss and design a healthy eating diet chart for all of us. I would like to suggest

    B.F - Sprouts or 2 slice of bread toast or 2 egg white
    Morn.Snack - Fruit or tea or coffee with crackers
    Lunch - 1 small cup of rice with curry and salad with any soup
    Even.Snack - Fruit or tea of cofee
    Dinner - 2 idly or 2 small dosa's or 2 chapathy

    2) Exercise Programme :-
    45 Mins to 1 hour of daily walking or cycling or jogging - any areobic exercise.

    The above is just my knowledge and understanding and please correct me if Iam wrong any where. I request you all be put in more diet charts, so that we all can discuss and decide one standard chart for all of us to follow.

    Second important thing, is please start writing food diary & exercise diary. I've attached my Weekly diary as sample. Please let me know your feedbacks.


    So................gals............... let me know. who all wanted to join. When you reply, put in your current weight, height, BMI, and your ideal weight (need to be).     Hope you recoverd fully from your stomach pain. glad to know that you were thinking about us while you were walking... I think as long as we make conscious effort..we can do it. As for Report day any day monday or sunday works for me.

    Hi All,

    I'm Sandhya. I want to join your team, and you'll be surprised to know that my daughter's birthday is also in Feb, she's born on 10th Feb this year. I'm working and I have lot of work after going home but I'll try to follow this diet. My exercise will be my walk to office, which is 20mins approx.

    Height - 5feet 2inches
    Weight - 68kgs:-(
    Target weight - 54kgs

    Ohh i missed this thread for the past one week.Count me in.I want to shed my extra weight i gained after coming to US(nearly 10 kgs in one year:-().

    My height 5'5 and weight 71
    Target 13 kgs.
    I started walking and today i am planning to start some exercises.But i am very lazy to wake up in the morning.After seeing this thread i got motivated.For the diet part first i'll reduce the portion of intake.Hope we all get success in this mission.

    Hi Aabhi,

    Thanx for starting this .It is heartening to know that i am not the only one struggling to lose weight.I would also like to join the group.

    My target is to shed 10kgs in three months.

    In my previous attempt I found maintaining a diary very useful.I used to ote down all that I ate in a day in it and reviewed it in the night. It helped me a lot.

    I am also going to follow a normal diet plan with no sweets and less oil and salt and start walking and exercise from today.Hope to lose 10 kgs in 3 mths.

    Happy Diwali and hping to achieve our dreams fast.

    We seem to be quite a large group now, great to have so many people to lose weight with! I started on Nov 2nd and the walking went well for the first 3 days. Then it rained during my walking hrs both yesterday and today and my baby was a bit cranky as well . so no walk...I feel so guilty. Also the diwali sweets have started arriving at home and I cant resist - trying to limit myself to only 1 a day. Lots of excuses I know, I need to try harder. How is everyone else doing? Aabhi can you redo our members list pls?

    Its really nice to see a team made up to shed those extra kgs and encouraging each other. I too like to join this group.
    Let me tell you my story.
    Better late than never, I realised the ill effects of being overweight and decided to shed some weight and I was so determined and even now i am determined to loose or maintain the weight.
    My
    Weight: 68 kgs 6 months ago and now 59kgs.
    Height: 5'3".
    Ideal weight: 55kgs
    Want to loose 4 kgs and then maintain the weight rather than loose it.

    The diet plan i follow is:

    Morning 8am: I make a smoothe of any 3 or 4 different fruits together with some milk in it.
    Snack 11am: any fruit.
    Lunch 12 noon: 4 or 5 different boiled veggie with very less salt and black pepper.
    Snack 2pm: Tea without sugar with some nuts.
    Dinner before 8pm: 1 cup rice with curry and curd.
    Once in a while I do eat all sorts of oily and rich food to my hearts content but do not regreat.
    Oh i forgot to mention the above is only on weekdays and on weekends i have rice for lunch and chapaties for dinner.
    I lost around 9kgs in 6 months.
    I am finding difficult to fit in exercise in my daily routine as I am lazy to wake up in the morning. :-( and I work full time.

    But my advise is as others mentioned "Slow and steady wins the Race".

    Hi Friends,

    I'm couting today as my day 1 in this weight loss program. I had breakfast, I ate 4 slices of bread, with 1/2 spoon of butter spread in one of them. And 1 glass of milk with sugar. I'm in office now, I've bought rice with curry, curd in my lunch box. Rice would be not less than 1 1/2 cup. Am I eating more according to my weight? As I already mentioned, I'm 68kgs(5'2ft). Please let me know.
