Dear Sudha,
Why are you so angry with me, my friend ?
I am not Nambiar definitely. You nicely commpare our site hero (so what, if the age is slightly on the higher side!) to a cinema hero & poor me to a much hated villain !
No, no, I will not agree. I know, I am not pretty like Padmini etc, but atleast to the status of some gundu heroine ! Now, don't think of Angamuthu immediately - I know how your mind will work !
I really don't know, why you, AC are all shifting to Govinda, Govinda side, leaving me alone !:-( No doubt, I blame it on & only on Kali Yuga !
Love,
Chithra.

Dear cheeniya,
What an excellent piece of writing! The entire thread incl. the FBs is the icing on the cake. Thanks to Chitra for the additional information on yugas, enriching the discussion. How many varied thoughts on the subject!

Having got your ‘U’ turn(thanks to Him for sparing us our gem), I thought you were getting ready for a fresh namakaranam and awaiting your 1st b’day. And here you are, talking of deluge/end!

I took you for Noah incarnate when I read some other threads like , ‘old age home…’ and ‘feeling like….’. It is an interestin contrast now, with you vying for an economy class on the <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ark.</st1:place></st1:state>

I think it’s the age of the person that makes all the difference- when young, a person wants the world(at least his neghbourhood) to be free from evils, so that he can conveniently ‘live’ his life and he won’t be threatened of losing his valued possessions. Later, he is hardened and assumes a different frame of mind; can watch filmed abductions, assaults, massacres and armed robberies with composure.

I am in the former stage and honestly, shun mishaps. There are 30 long years before me to see how I shall feel at your age. I look forward to it- ease and composure.

True, the peril awaits its time. For those who believe in the scriptures, there they are ,talking of ‘pralayam’. For those who won’t there are the poor geologists toiling to find that the glaciers and icebergs are melting, to submerge all in water; finally endorsing the Texts.

As you said, if the Kaliyugam doubled in span, the process will perhaps be slowed down and its gravity, more tolerable. The difference over a century will be negligible for anybody to notice the progress of kali,in his lifetime. Alas! It is not so!

We will have to beckon the rishis and munis to have yaagams performed, b’cos people’s(incl. me) devotion today, in my understanding, is more self-centred than towards ‘loka-kshemam’. Possible for them to remain righteous in the present?

Humans, after all. Can do nothing abt it. Can’t change destiny. Can’t stop people from dying of natural catastrophes, road accidents and cancer. Babies born with aids, abandoned kids struggling to gain identities, physical abuse on children- are these inflicted by supernatural powers?

Is it the brunt of their karma.

The world population has always been increasing. It is believed to have doubled in the last 50 years. This leads to thinking that half the beings on earth now are reincarnates of souls that existed 50 yrs ago and have their karma following them. In that case, the other half have to be fresh creations, yet to open accounts of karma and have no past actions-good or bad. Is it true that one half of all beings at present have nothing to suffer??? Are they a happy lot?

However, there are things that we can do; be more humane to save the situation. It is you and I that kali uses most of the time, to torment each other. So, naturally we are empowered to somewhat mitigate the suffering of people.

Reaching out to redress is more important. Lamenting of karma and fate may take the back seat.

Regards,

Dear Sudha
I have to disagree with you on your choices for Cheeniya Sir as being Shivaji MGR , etc. Come on yaar How could you ?
I have already assigned RAJNIKANTH the most beftting choice
(in my humble? opinion)
and not going to go near the heroine side No Way
But I am searching for a good villian/viili for myself will consult dear hubby and get back.

Sri Sir
Are you planning to send Rockets this time or what?? Dry them in the sun !! to make sure it works.

Dear cheeniya,
Your blog made remember a conversation i had last week with my cousin. When i was commenting about the latest militancy attacks , he told me about a conversation of Ramana maharishi with a devotee.A devotee went to the maharishi lamenting about the deterioration of human values .Maharshi asked him who created the universe .when the devotee replied its god's creation ,he admonished the devotee saying when He created the universe he will look after the people there. But the devotee should concentrate on bettering himself ,rather than worrying about others.
regards,
radha.

Dear Chithra
Having been given to understand that you are an accredited expert in making kozha kozha vendakkai curry, I was searching for your recipe for the same but couldn't find it. In what nomenclature have you indexed it? I'm sure you would have given some exciting name for it with a suggestion of French possibly, that goes something like gluants de bindi :crazy

Dear Sudha
Left to myself, I would love to be the Kaadal Mannan Gemini! You are right about the villain. He'll be beating everyone to pulp throughout the picture and only in the last scene does the hero get a chance to return the favour!
I dont know why are you all so much enamoured of Osama? Do you think he'll be Laden with a lot of goodies as his name would imply?
Sri
