Weight Loss team - To shed weight permanently

    Hey Aabhi,
    Fantastic idea this. Can I make up the dozen? I had a baby 3 mnths back and am nursing, so I may not be able to stick very closely to the diet,but I need to cut down my sweets/snacks and start exercising.

    Ht - 5' 4"
    Wt - 82 kgs
    Target wt - 60 kgs.(Need to lose 22 kgs)

    Exercise - Going to start with walking 30 mins aday to begin with, then add other things.
    Diet - Breakfast - Cornflakes with milk
    Lunch - Rice with sambar/dal/rasam, veggies, curd
    Dinner - Idli/Dosa/Chappati - 3, Curd.
    I dont drink coffee/tea. Only a glass of buttermilk midmorning.
    If I stop the sweets and snacks I wouldnt have such a problem. And also my Sunday icecream!
    Anyway looking fwd to this.

    How did your first day go? mine went very well..as per planned and also I am maintaing the food and excerise journal so that I know how many cals I will be taking..
    Hope everybody sticking with their planned plan..

    Mine went OK. I had one hallowen choclate bar. can't resist when my son tells me its ok to have one. but anyway will try to makeup that one someother day by extra 30 mins of excercise.

    Hello everybody,
    I am a wrong person in the wrong section.
    I am not here to lose weight but I just wanted to say something.
    Recently my husband had some health issues so the doc advised him to cut down his weight but in a healthy manner.I planned a diet for him and an exercise routine.He managed to lose 16 pounds in 5 months.Which the doc told is v healthy.
    1 main thing I want to tell u all is be carefull,do not starve urselves.Dont get dark circles and become like patients in ur egarness to lose weight.
    Here is what I planned for dh:
    Morning BF heart healthy cereal with soy milk on weekdays and on weekends,dosa with only chutney/idly/upma with veg
    mid morning 5-6 badam,cashew and pista
    lunch rice with veg
    mid afternoon 1 orange
    dinner at 7 rice or chapati with veg.
    Once a week I used to give him some snacks.
    He used to exercise for 15 min to half hr per day.
    This way he controlled portion size,did not eat junk but still got all the nutrition his body needed.

    Hope my post helped atleast a few of my friends.
    I am only concerned if u become weak,thats all

    I think having one chocolate is ok for the first day, that to when you have soo..many chocalotes from halloween. As long as if you can limit yourself with one..

    Just thought what are you doing in this forum?
    Thanks for peeping in and posting..it's really helpful..Its indeed motivating to know that your husband last 16lbs in 5months..that's great.
    did you measure the portions eg: rice, upma, idli, dosa etc..?
    For me main thing is I can't limit to myself to eat only two idlis or one roti or only 5 almonds..that's where I need to Improve....

    Hi gals,

    It's good to know that everyone is doing fine so far. Very happy. I was a bit tied for the past couple of days and hence couldn't put it my feedback. And today, when I see all your feedback's and I got my batteries charged. Believe me........ It really helps. Our interaction plays a key role on it.

    In my case, not very good not very bad. In between neutral. To be very frank, I could just reduce little of my portions. But, thankfully got rid of Sugar in the coffee, junks like chocolate, sweets, snakcs. Only managed to do ........ only 25 mins of walking. As per our plan, I should do 30 to 45 mins. But I was having stomach ache......... (nice excuse). But I really had.

    Today, Iam perfectly fine and going good so far. Let's see more feedback's from our WL members.

    How are you gals doing. Tulasi & Indian girl has put in their comments. Thanks a ton. What about the rest of the members? How is it going so far. I know, it was a bit tough (atleast for me) to kick start. And if that is the case, hey no worries. We are all here to boost our minds. I just hope we continue doing it with 100% input. We all can make it together.:thumbsup:thumbsup

    Thanks for being so supportive. Iam glad to be a part of our team. This morning, when I was walking I swear I was thinking about all of us. I was just waiting to get into the PC to write to you all. so, here Iam.

    and hey gals, we need to decide on our Report day. How do you all want it ? Whether on the first day of the week (Monday) or on the last day of the week (sunday). Please let's decide.

    Hi gals

    Let me add my two bit !!

    those of you ( except Lata I dont think any body else was there in our luncheon meet on saturday at chitvishs house).. would know that i am way above being the normal weight .. ( feel bad about calling myself obese... lol)..

    losing one kilo a month or maximum two kilos would be most ideal. but dont try to go in for any drastic weight loss .. or trying to cut down on ur food intake or anything ..

    First - sit down and realistically analyse what makes you want to eat ? ( for instance I eat when I am upset !! comfort food )!!

    dont go in for diets like abs no oil, no rice,et al.. your resolve will give away within a week and u will go back to eating twice the amount !! ( believe me.. I have gone through all this )..

    instead of taking three dosas or four idlis in the morning for b/fast ( which i suppose would be considered ok).. cut it down to three idlis and two dosas and have a cup of oats ( cook oats in water for three mts,, add lots of diluted butter milk) and drink it. if its possible cut out on the sugar/salt. this should suffice you till around 11.30. at 11.30 have half a papaya.

    same with lunch.. every week try to cut down a little bit more on the quantity that you eat .. instead susbstitute it with salads .. ( no raitas please)!! I know you will be famished by the time its 5 in the evening ... have something to eat .. that way u wont gorge till ur dinner time... try to have an early dinner .. be through with dinner by 8..

    and most important ... go in for some form of exercise ... yoga, aerobics, jogging,walking ... anything ..

    and yes -- get away from that computer/tv....and walk instead...

    I may not have reduced too much by way of kilos but i am definitely in better spirits - both mentally and physically..

    try it gals ... lets all unite!!!
