Sometimes… In a milling crowd of millions Of the mankind I feel lost… I look for familiar faces… Reassuring hands… A sense of security… Sometimes… Even in a group Of friendly faces… I feel lost… Not belonging… Nor contributing to The inane chatter… Sometimes… In the togetherness of Just the two of us… I feel lost For words To assure you And myself… about us… Sometimes… All alone In my own company I feel lost Wandering in A maze of thoughts Till there’s no comeback… Am I a misanthrope? An introvert? An egotistic narcissus? A loner seeking his identity? Is it age? The generation gap? Or is it the onset of Alzheimer’s? No it is not… Is it? Now where was I? What was I saying? Who am I ? It is hopeless… One thing is for sure… I am lost!
That was a good one!-'I feel lost'. Quite a number of times we come across such situations in life. In fact I had written a poem in search of my identity during my difficult period of life-'Soul searching'. Even when I read it now after so many years, my eyes fill with tears, but then I say to myself-" You have crossed that stage. Now you are a witness unto yourself!"Reading and writing poems can relieve a lot of stress. But, to be frank, your poem doesn't seem to be on a serious note, especially the last few lines! So, was there any particular incident that inspired you to write this poem? Just curiosity! Regards

Hello ma'am, pleasant evening! That was really thought provoking. Many a time all of us feel that we are left out and situations demand from us more than what we are capable of adapting ourselves to. Yes, this happens to almost all individuals. But, according to me, even in those situations, we sit behind and try to interrogate our state of mind. This kind of inward speculation can bring us up from the quagmire of life's difficult and tough situations. The "tides" can be set all right with patience and correct decision making. When ever i feel left out or dejected, i just sit back and start meditating. It helps me to solve the problem patiently and also in a clever way. Many such wonderful poems to hit IL:-o Regards
Hi, Kudos to the wonderful way in which you have depicted a common occurance in almost everyones life. While you begin your journey inlife you seem lost , while you are on, you feel lonely and lost and the worst is while you are up there on top ...you still feel lost!!!!!!. So much for the togetherness that we homosapiens always boast of. Regards, Devika
Hello ma'am, good evening! Thank you for that bit of encouragement:-o. Yes, absolutely true that we boast or feel proud for many things in life. But at times we neglect to attend to those tiny things in life which creates a certain set back. Thats when the aspect of loneliness creeps in and takes its shape. Regards
You are not alone, twinsmom, me too experience the same. Nicely coined words! Ramya it is true that if you meditate or sit quietly in a place it gives a clarity in the mind! sriniketan
Hello Srini ma'am, pleasant day to you! Thank you for your kind feedback. Yes ma'am, meditation is one such way of seeing divinity within ourselves which leaves behind a serene atmosphere within us ; thereby preparing our mind for further hard ships! Regards
