    It is a nice explanation of V standing for not only victory, but survival itself.

    In my opinion, next to Churchill, the man who made this V sign very popular and achieved big political success is our Puratchi Thalaivar M.G.R. The symbol V stands for the two leaves that is his party symbol. One more leader who made the symbol V very popular in Tamil nadu is Periyar who used to remark always 'Vengayam'. So, V stands for Vengayam.

    Some more meanings for V:

    V stands for Vanagamudi
    V stands for Varadhatchinai
    V stands for Vilambaram
