    Yes our Dear Sharada,
First of all the present day kids cannot be pressurised to do what our options we wanted them to become...days are such...
My own Experiances to bring up my son in to my line of Engineering, having he scored 88 %+ in his Anglo Indian School finals exams and got him trained to come out successfully in Engg Entrance Exams, filled up the Applications and at the time of Enrolment, he changed his idea to become an creative artist instead of my wish to bring him up in engineering. I have to forego my preference and paved the way for his Visual Communications studies, now he has reached the 2ndyear and like to do him masters in Viscom at Pune or Chennai....I said fine, do it and try his experiances and any time he feels it is not his cup of tea, he can join MBA and take up my business.

My daughter too finished her Plus Two with 90 %+ marks applied for Architecture, could not get the seat and settled down for BCA, compleated with collage topper, done her entrance for MBA with 87.6 % and joined MBA and she is in final year MBA now....

So we can only give our wards our preferences for their higher educations, yet we have to see what's their own intersts of subjects before putting them to their choice.

Let me know what is your sons interest and can suggest him the line of engineerng.
As such if the person is going to study only for higher perks, then the line is Software or any IT related engineering.
If the person has talents and wanted to show his expertaize, better to put him in some Vocational training courses before he joins in the collage. for example now a days there is lot of scope for Medical instrumentation mechanisms, Hardware, CNC operated machines programing, CADD for tool design etc.. to name a few.

    Awaiting your reply.
    Subbu

    hi Subbu,
Thank you for the prompt and timely reply. Appreciate it.

My son is a typical teenager. Very well mannered, courteous. Doesn't talk much to us. Plays good tennis.

Also, he is good in School. All A grades. His GPA is about 4.1. He is very good in Math, but he doesn't picture himself as an Engr. :bang He is good in Science, but medical field is too "intense" :idontgetit:. His famous words are "money should make money" :eek:mg:. So we thought may be he will start some business. Then the next question "what/where/how/ business?"...

I am a very down to earth person. I believe anything "easy come, easy go". unless we sweat, we will not know the value. Is it ok with you if my son contacts you directly? May be he will open out with you!!

Thank you again for all your good words and time,
    regards,
    Sharada

    Our dear Sharada,

Come on.....Money alone doesnot satisfy one's needs,
Money is neccessary to lead a life comfortably and satisfactions of sharing ones experiances and learning does not come out of money.
More we are after Money, we are lost....
Let us concentrate on self contented efforts to serve the mankind.
Our elders have taught us enough on what's money and how it has to be earned.
Ethical, moral values in one's life is much more important than just money minded.
Sarvam Mayam... Today Money may be ours ..tomorrow it may be someones...
Toil enough to see the fruits of our efforts.
Every one's life there is a substantial portion of time needed to extend our hands to the needy.
Today we are happy, because some one taught us and some from whom we experianced.
Pay back is our timely help to those in needy without any expectations.
Almighty knows how to compensate our happiness and loyalty.

    Hi Subbu,
Thank you for your great support. Appreciate it.

Pay back is usually done to be lime light, get media coverage and make more money. :notthatway:
Only a "complete" person, in other words, people who have gone the complete circle of ups and downs of life, will think about giving back to the society without any pomposity.

    I thank you for that.
    warm regards,
    Sharada

    Dear subbutr sir,

This is an excellent post giving your experiences and valuable advice and guidance. All the aspiring enterpruner should read your post. I think the city of Coimbatore has given many enterprising enterpruners, the most outstanding of them is G.D. Naidu. Lakshmi Mills, Coimbatore is a great institution who started the Cancer Hospital in Pappanaickanpalayam. I had the opportunity to visit this hospital and find out the invaluable work they are doing in providing cure to the cancer patients.

    Regards,
