Dear V
That news about the Dutch women puts my mind at ease! It means in simple terms that I can not commit a gender blunder in Holland!
With that cue, I'll find my way to the Latvian myth. No need to embarrass M!
I'm too chivalrous to agree with that 'bird brain' view!

Thank ye, kind Sire C. Ye on your white steed and shining armour, we ILites salute thee for not calling us bird brained.

If I could beam you back to King Arthur's round table, I am sure Arthur aka Sean Connery would boot out Lancelot aka Gere to make place for IL's knight aka Cheeniya.

Have to go now and make vengaya sambar for my own gallant knight in white shirt and silk tie aka Ramji.

Take care C and have fun. I will be back when u r back with the next great post.

regards
V

hi all....

Enjoying the banter...starting from high fives....the lativian thinking...

but the bird goddess was she not a symbol of how slippery/fleeting victory can be...(see how good a philosophy....so why should we go and deviate them into thinking about bird brains..:tongue.)

And ofcourse If I could beam you back to King Arthur's round table, I am sure Arthur aka Sean Connery would boot out Lancelot aka Gere to make place for IL's knight aka Cheeniya.-:2thumbsup:.

I know some are very familiar with bajanai and all but it is only aiipasi...margazhi is yet to come......

Aha..starting at victory, then vedanthis...knighthoods...bajanais....where to from here.....

And I also am a survivor with a V:yes: in life....

Dear Cheeniya sir ,
Another nice write up ! Ur friend’s nephew is really smart enough to point out ‘ V ‘ as a sign of ‘ survival ‘ !
Won’t it be dashed confusing if both winners and losers start showing the V sign, I asked him. Turning a bit philosophical, he replied that both were only two sides of the same
coin." His cute reply to a great genius like u confirms his smartness !
My survival depends on ‘ V ‘( Varalotti ) ! I thank u ( for starting this thread ) on behalf of all those who depend on ‘V’( of course of their own respectively ! ) for survival !
Manithan enpavan deivam aagalamnu Kavignar padaliya? anda vagaila patha Vish also is amply qualified to be included in that category!" I liked <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />ur reply to chithra !
With regards ,
Indhu .

Dear C,

I know I said I wont come back, but look what the cat dragged into your forum this morning-------

Anyway, stir as you did the hand sign couldron, now I am seeing signs everywhere. Last night we watched Royal Manchester win a football match. What intrigued me was everytime a player in RM scored a goal, he would go thru the usual, approved cave man signs that are mandated of footballers when they strike. Lift up his shirt, rub chests with other players, high fives, fists up ; and then there was this new one. Strike a goal, and then the player would suck his thumb and pretend to rock a baby. After six goals, I had to know what this meant. Ramji informed me that this was to tell the spectators that it was child's play. The other team was mush and beating them was child's play. Honestly, this beats the V sign of your nephew.

No more.

pip pip

Hi Shanvy,

Thanks. They say 'ella namaskaramum Emperumaanukku thaan' (something like that). Similarly, in this forum, 'ella perumayum namba Cheeniya unclekku thaan'.

If he had not started this topic, none of us would have learnt so much.

regards
V

Dear Sudha
Now you know why I keep myself glued to the younger generation! That's the only way to keep learning till our dying day. Vidhya can certainly write a thesis on forms of greeting across the nations starting from Latvia! I like the way how she generates interest by a subtle hint here and a subtle hint there!
I am also as eagerly waiting to see how far this goes!
