    Re: Vijayadashami Amrit Peda

    dear sudha,
i just say the devimahatmiyam and lalilathasahasranamam, but i dont go into golu and all those for many years now, who do you call for golu, there are no hindus in our locality, all muslim friends, there were many christians too but somehow we are at present among many muslims, so when we do not have community people coming over what is the point for keeping golu, i consider it more a meeting of our friends and relatives, but when none are near by, it is better to pray for the devi in you own way, dassehra has been enjoyed by me by making the pdf available to all well before navrathri to tell the slokam as i do,whether mahishasuramardhini, or devi mahathmiyam, i have already posted the lalitha sahasranamam, so i feel getting a good feed back for all my efforts and many telling the solgam in each house i joined manaseegama with them, what more is enjoyable than this, we had our usual sundals and payasam and vadai and all, now this is also for the three of us, me and my daughters, as my son in law is in US my elder daughter is off color, so we just pray and plenty of jaadi malai for her through the nine days, the rajarajeshwari picture that i have has all the deity in it, from shiva, narayana, ganesha murugan, krishna, brahma, and all the navagrahas, and ambal is seated in the middle. so in itself i see her omkara swaroopam..this peda receipe is for the bengali upbringing in me, which we give ma on that day before immersion....regards sunkan

    Dear Sunkan madam.

Thanks for u r reply and immediate response regarding u r festival. In which area do u stay in bangalore coz most of the kannada speaking people will celebrate dushera .I am also kannadiga. Stayed in bangalore I thought u had celebrated well and expected the same from u too.
I saw u r lalithasahasranamam slokam in one of the thread but it was written in tamil so I did not understand.
Thanks for sharing u r dasara celebration.
I try the peda receipe and follow accordingly.

    With Regards,
