HI Devi, Thank you for the contact information...I did contact Dhanam and she has been great. Sreepadma, Have you found someone yet? If not Dhanam is looking for regular year round work. I believe she cooks non veg too-if you need it. R
Hi Devi/Teacher and other friends - I have been considering employing a cook and after reading your recommendation about Dhanam (the cook) I contacted her. She said that she was available for work. Since I am pregnant and working, I plan to use her services for long term - 1- 1.5 yrs atleast. Now, I am not sure how to fix her salary. I will be discussing it with Dhanam but would like to have a figure to quote from my side. We are non vegetarians and would want the cook to come in the evenings(only) to cook dinner and for the next day lunch (side dishes alone). I could make rice in the morning for lunch. We are 2 people and a 4 year old kid. Any suggestions from other people who have employed cooks on what the salary could be? Thanks, Smita
Hi Smita, Dhanam made only veggie food for us-so I don't know how that translates to your requirements. I didn't know the going rate either and offered her what she asked. You might want to check with others...hopefully Devi reads this Rama
Thanks Teacher for your response. Hoping others who have had experiences with cooks will be able to help me with the salary rate. Thanks, Smita
Hi - Dhanam did not work out for us since our place was far for her to travel everyday. Please let me know if anyone staying in Valasaravakkam or near abouts can refer any cooks.. Thanks, Smita
Dear Rama, Thanks for helping dhanam. I recommended her for her politeness. Hope she satisfies your needs. Smita, You can pay Rs. 2500 for half a day for a family of three. Devi.
