    Hi All,
My wife (26 yrs with 2 children) and my sister(34 yrs -did not conceive due to marital issues), both suffer from severe menstrual pains.

Wife: She usually gets her periods at 25 days. Bleeding continues for almost 6 to 7 days. The first 3 days or so are extremely painful and she vomits sometimes due to pain. Nowadays, she says sometimes small clumps of blood are seen. We have two children. We use male contraceptive. She never took any birth control pills etc and no surgery ever done. Used a siddha medicine called 'Gynovit' for few months long before marriage and had good result. Resumed sometime after marriage, but she says it does not have much effect now(she is also irregular in use).
    Uses brufen to ease pain.

Sister: Case is similar to wife and both more or less menstruate at the same time. No children. I have no idea about bleeding. Pain is severe.

I am looking for a safe and effective natural remedy/home remedy/ayurvedic medicine or please suggest a renowned Ayurvedic/Homeopathic doctor close to Ameerpet area of Hyderabad(AP,India).

Also please suggest ways to alleviate the pain at home.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Govindam

Severe menstrual pains and excessive bleeding is caused by a condition where the uterine wall is grows thicker than normal each cycle and so the body struggles to lose it.
There are hormonal IUDs available in the market which when inserted inhibit the thickening of this membrane and this leads to very minimal pain during periods and in many case practically non-existant periods. I do not know about ayurveda ..please check with ur gynec.
The insertion of this hormonal IUD is practically a 10 min procedure.

Fibroid might be one of the reasons for the pain. Generally fibroids results heavy bleeding, menstrual cramps, sharp pelvic pain, increase in length of periods, anemia.
And for pain, I drink little coke/pepsi & because of their gases, I vomit. 90 % of my pain will go away after vomting. But this is temporary solution. Use less salt & spices before periods. Please consult a doctor.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I did not check back on this thread afterwards.

But, I am back to tell the update. My wife had been visiting an Ayurvedic doctor and using medicines for few months. Things have improved. But, stopping the medication seems to partially raise the issue again. Even she suggested for some scanning.

Anyway, the LATEST UPDATE is that my wife found a quick and safe way to reduce pain. My main intention of re-visiting this page is to let all know about this method. She found this while reading through pdf books of Dr. Elchuri ( Ayurvedic ).

    The solution is as follows:
Ingredients: 1/4 spoon of black pepper( Say 5 or 6 )
10 grams of Gur ( Bellam in telugu)
    1 spoon of ghee.

Grind all the above three in mortar and pestle. This will make a paste. Make a small ball, the size of a marble and put it in your cheek and slowly swallow the extract. Within minutes the pain is cured. My wife says in 5 minutes or so, her pain vanished. This paste can make few marble sized balls.

Please try this and let me know. All ingredients are safe. If it works share with other women and help them.

Ok I am gong to try this tomorrow.

Ladies. I just can't believe that I am saying this but I am seriously considering getting my uterus removed (I am sure there is a word for this but I know not what). I am 30 and a mother of an 8 month old.
Since the time I first go my periods (at 14) I have been suffering from severe cramps. Used meftal while in India, been using Tylenol later. The pain is never ending! I can't take this anymore. I just cannot.
    What shall I do?!!

Hubby is saying wait for the second baby. No. I can't anymore. As I am typing this, am almost In tears. What the hell?! It's never going to stop is it?

    Every. Single. Month. 3 days.

    Hi Rakhii,
Before eliminating a part of your body, with its own specific function, please consider alternatives. There are some really good ayurvedic and siddha doctors who can safely cure your condition. Yesterday, I typed a long reply to you and just before I was about to post it, my DD pressed the power button on my laptop.
I wanted to say that, the doctor from whose magazine (Andariki Ayurvedam meaning Ayurveda for all), my wife picked up the above cure, is Dr. Elchuri Venkateswara rao( www.andarikiayurvedam.com). Last sunday, my wife and I went to his introductory session which he conducts free of cost to aspiring patriotic youth about the importance of ayurveda. He gives remedies from common kitchen ingredients and plants that grow (or supposed to grow) in our vicinity. You can download his magazine from 2007 to date and some special books all in telugu, free of cost, worth thousands of rupees. He was a communist and a core atheist who now praises the almighty, the rishis and sages of bharath and is waging his own war against degrading values, MNCs and our own apathy to ancient knowledge developed over thousands of years.

Currently my wife is going through all his books. Actually the magazine was launched in 1997, but online versions are available only since 2007.

If you try the above remedy, please publish the result. The same thing did not seem to work as expected to my sister. And if your body is of 'heat' type, consume butter milk to offset the heat generated from the ingredients.

All the best. There is hope. Are you sure that by removing the uterus, it will completely solve your problem and no new problems occur? My mother had some issue, where her urine was burning( no infection). A doctor suggested surgery, and my elder sister who is a dentist backed it. The surgery cost around 8k but the problem just is the same. Book knowledge will not solve all problems. Experiential knowledge is more valuable.

Govindam, nice of you to come and update the happenings, results and suggesting the doctor you have consulted. Best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery.

rakhii, removing uterus is not the solution. Have you seen a good gynaecologist or taken treatment? I have seen people suffering from severe cramps where they even faint because of pain. There are other alternatives available in Nature's Basket. Do consider them. No organ should be removed unless & otherwise there is no option but do it. So try to find out the root cause of your problem and get it cured through right treatment. People who got their uterus (unavoidable situations) removed suffer differently. That solution will only lead to another problem. You can search IL for more tips to control the pain. Best wishes.
