So, I heard that drinking milk is good during preg, I am 5weeks4days today & I drink 2 cups of milk everyday...but I have been facing two issues because of that..
    1) My mucus (I developed cough & congestion since I was 4weeks Preg) does not subside at all
    2) I have loose motions

Does anyone else have similar issues or can someone suggest what should I do?

Milk is not necessary during pregnancy. It is good but you can get calcium from other stuff like spinach or kale. Milk does indeed cause increase in mucus production. During pregnancy your the elevated hormones cause sluggish metabolism and digestion which means some foods are not easily digested. Since you are having both side effects, or so it appears, stop the milk for a 1 week and see if you feel better. The body needs atleast 1 week if not more to expell all of the milk proteins from the body and so it may take that long for your symptoms to dissapear. In that one week, not having the milk will not affect the baby's development in any way. I hope you are taking your prenatal vitamins.

If nothing has changed in 1 week, then you can resume your milk. You'll still need to figure out why you have the mucus and loose bowels. I suggest you speak to your ObGyn.

Thank you so much, I will try your suggestion....I am taking my Pre Natals..but since yesterday my morning sickness has been bad...I cannot stand food & have been preety much on milk & water...actually today I have not had anything except an apple. So I could not take my pre natal. I hope to eat something for lunch & take my prenatal.
Any ideas on how to subside the nausea?

How about Aam ki achar (mango pickle) with hot rice? My sis used to love this when she was pregnant.

@chotumeetu...yeah same here, I don't like milk but everyone speaks abt its importance...I will leave for a week because of my mucus issue but will continue after that. I would suggest you do the same...try lil like a half a cup with Bournvita or Horlicks. Seriously I am waiting to come out of this nausea & enjoy my preg:)
@Rakhi...I do like that, the thing is I feel like eating something but once I make it...I don't feel like eating it OR I eat it & then dont wanna think abt it again:-(

    Pinky,

find out if someone nearby prepares home-made , so that you can buy.
Food aversion is a very common symptom. Ask your husband to cook something for you in the night and keep that for your lunch as well. There is no other choice.

as Rakhi suggested Achar will do good in those times ...
because u feel like eating sour why don't u try mango pulihora and pulihora version which are made with Tamarind and Lemon or Mango or try Savour pickles which helps for the upset stomach as well..

the best i use is Ginger pickle when ever i feel stomach upset ... iam also pregnant right now
so i thought these would help u if u would like to give a try ...
Once again take care of ur self.
