    Hi Shanvy,

The way you express the T.Nagar environment shows your humourous view!!!:clap
Really that is what happening there :-(
Recently few months back on a festival eve...
My mom thought of buying a white towel for my dad since we have balance rupees after a heavy purchase, but i forced my mom to buy a short towel for my use..My mom refused and bought the towel in a famous store and they asked us to put the bill in the ground floor counter(We purchased it at the top most 5th floor!!!) .We paid the bill and when we get into the vehicle we checked the towel,it was my short towel and no more my dad's the big towel .At last T.nagar become my favourite spot!!!:-D
P.s:Thanks for your correct website notification

    Hi nalini,

I shudder to think the happenings nearing diwali. nowadays i get e-mails from shops about their offers... And what you have written about the shop is really horrible...you are forced to go up and down....shuttling for paying the bill....in my experience...we had picked stuff in each floor, the salesperson billed it wrong in one floor...we were in the shop..they did not check it out...when we came to claim the purchase they kept us waiting waiting..what ...i blew my whistle...the management then to pacify me gave me better gift than the one i was eligible for....

    Hai girls,
here is my experience. I had given two blouses for stitiching at Naidu Hall and it was over due. So myself and hubby decided to finish that work and set out on last Monday. We went to Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple, then to my sil's family's textile shop in Sullivan Garden Road. This week they are celelbrating their 27th anniversay and we usually do some shopping there also.
We bought 4 churidar sets, some casual wear for my son and towels -in just 20 minutes. Theirs is a small shop, but has a good collection. Then we proceeded to Pondy Bazaar. Once inside the Thiagaraya Road, the vehicles were moving only inch by inch. When we reached Naidu Hall, there was no space to even turn the wheel slightly, so we just moved on and came home.
I again started my journey to that wretched place on Thursday afternoon. Even then the condition was same. I saw that on the opp. of Rathna Firm, 2 rows of 2 wheelers were parked. As I was doubtful of finding a parking space opp. to Naidu Hall, I too parked my scooty there and went to the shop. I came back in 40 minutes and to my horror, my scooty was not there. I frantically asked the nearby platform shopkeeper and he said that the police had taken away some 10 vehicles for parking in a non parking area. Just imagine my plight- there are so many 2 wheelers parked and they had to take my scooty. I went to the police station, paid Rs.150 fine and took my vehicle. I have vowed that I shall not shop in that area any more, it is so very disgusting, pushing and shoving in the crowd.
I have already stopped shopping in Panagal Park area some 17 years back . There are Nalli and Radha Silk in Anna Nagar and also so many shops in Anna Nagar. Ambattur shops also have good collection of chudi material and I feel that they are cheaper than even the most cheap shop in the city.
It is a very painful experience n big shops to go from one floor or section to another for various articles. In smaller shops it is easier. When we had the house warming in Feb., we went to my sil's shop and finished the shopping in just 2 hours-that too sitting comfortably in a place and also being pampered by them with coffee, cool drinks and snacks.

    Hi all,

I too had the same kinda exp. like shanvy..I had gone to chennai silks only twice and both the times i fought with the management ...Then stopped going there...the way they had organised the shop for purchase and billing is so disgusting...that too for persons like me who r quick in selecting the dresses, find it getting on to the nerves when billing and collection time is more than the selection time for our dresses....to my wonder when the bill showed its an ISO certified shop, it really blew my mind...then as usual the management tried to pacify with big goodies than the ones i was eligible for !!!!!!!!
