    Has anybody done the AOL Detox course --- they say it is very very good to help in losing weight ! But it is also said to be difficult because of the dietary rules --- can anybody who has done it, tell what exactly are the rules ; do we have to eat only raw food ; or only less-salt and less-spicy , how does it work ? It seems even if eat a small amt. of forbidden food, the doctor will know by testing our 'naadi' ; for 3 months it seems we will be on this strict diet ! I know that they take blood test and teach some yoga, which when done with our regular kriya, is very good effect for the body.Actually, this Nov. 1st. week a course has started here, but I couldn't register on time 'cos it was all fully booked ! Next course comes only next year it seems ......Anyone who has done, or who knows about this can they give a rough idea please, of the food related guidelines ; would be very helpful. Thanks.

    Jai Gurudev Friends !

    Last weekend we had a wonderful opportunity to visit the AOL Ashram here and since Guruji was also there -- double the joy !! A bus was arranged for a group of us travelling from Montreal and we had a good trip. Fortunately, we also had a good darshan of Guruji , while he went on a walk thro' the snowy terrain ; and had the chance to participate in the satsang thereafter. Though only a couple of bhajans were sung, he answered a few questions and we all had laughter and bhakthi , as usual.
    Here are some of the questions, which I recall:

    Qn: Dear Gurudev, What is the purpose of my life ? How do I know if I've achieved it ?

    Guruji: Firstly pat yourself on the back for this question having arisen in you ; that itself means you are not just existing like many others, you are truly living. Just keep asking this question to yourself everyday . Those who know the purpose of life, will not tell you --- those who tell you the purpose of life, do not really know. [ Smile... Smile...]

    Qn: Dearest Gurudev, If I am not a good son, not a good brother, not a good spouse and also not a good parent -- then can I become a good disciple ?

    Guruji: If you become a good disciple, you will automatically become a good everything else ---[ Laughter, Clapping, Smiling ...]

    Qn: Dear Guruji, How do I balance my social life with my spiritual life ?

    Guruji: How do you balance a cycle ?? [ Laughter.. Clap...] Just like that .....You just do it.

    Qn: Loving Guruji, this is my first visit to meet you. They say heaven is at the feet of the mother. I want to know if Heaven is at your feet ?

    Guruji: There is no earth under my feet-- only space. Look within you, deep inside you , you will find just space -- that same space is beneath my feet . [ Smiles ...]

    Then towards the end, when Guruji just picked a toffee from a basket next to him, many hands stretched out and he smilingly remarked --
    Why are you wanting to catch what I throw .... you have to catch ME, not what I throw.....

    This being our first visit to an Ashram, and the first time we have ever seen our beloved Guruji, we felt so so very very calm and happy --- though only a few hours, we will cherish the remarkable experience and are eagerly awaiting our next opportunity.

    Wishing all His Devotees get this lovely chance.

    Hi Grace3,
    You have wonderful experience and you narrated it very well.
    THOSE WHO KNOWS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE WON`T TELL
    THOSE WHO TELLS THE PURPOSE REALLY DON`T KNOW.

    I like these lines very much.I am not very familiar with Sri Sri Sri
    Ravishankarji. But I studied one of his books and I am very
    interested spiritual search and introspection. This thread is an
    eye opener.

    EYE OPENER ----------- MUST READ

    One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on
    the door on which it was written:
    'Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company
    passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been
    prepared in the gym'.

    In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues,
    but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man
    who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.

    The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.
    Everyone thought: 'Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at
    least he died!'.

    One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they
    looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the
    coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part
    of their soul.

    There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could
    see himself.
    There was also a sign next to the mirror that said:

    'There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU.'

    You are the only person who can revolutionize your life.

    You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success.
    You are the only person who can help yourself.

    Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change,
    when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company
    changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting
    beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life.

    'The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself'

    Examine yourself, watch yourself. Don't be afraid of difficulties,
    impossibilities and losses: be a winner, build yourself and your reality.
    It's the way you face Life that makes the difference.

    Hi friends,

    Just read this today & wanted to share it here .

    Question: What am I here for?

    Guruji : Find out what you are not here for

    1. You are not here to blame;
    2. You are not here to cry;
    3. You are not here to sleep;
    4. You are not here to show off;
    5. You are not here to fight;
    6. You are not here to be miserable;
    7. You are not here to be angry;
    8. You are not here to worry;

    When you follow fun, misery follows you…When you follow knowledge, fun follows you.
    - His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar
