Dear Seniors of ILs,

I wish to share with you a success story of a senior citizen aged 70 + in curing joint pain.

The following was the treatment:

1. A natural health supplement Glucosamine thrice a day. It helps the cartilage.
2. Massage with warm Narayan/MahaNarayana Oil. Mix one spoon of this oil with two spoons of Sesame or Mustard oil and massage the area twice daily.
3. A calcium and Vitamin D supplement once a day.
4. At least 45 minutes of light walking.
5. Two capsules of Shallaki - an Ayurvedic herb everyday

Within few months of following this regime, the pain was eliminated.

My aunt suffers from arthritis i want to share this with her.
Can u tell me what is narayan oil and what are shallaki capsules ?
We are situated at Hyderabad,where can we get these two things from her?

Hi Hubbysdarling, Sorry i saw the thread only today. Mahanarayan oil is used for such conditions. Some of its ingredients are Sesame oil, Dashamula, Shatavari , Camphor Oil, Manjista , Arjuna ... It is available at pharmacies. Shallaki is a herb that treats the pain without side effects. It is available at Ayurvedic pharmacies only. There are online sellers too. Ex Himalaya Healthcare Search for "store.himalayahealthcare" See the method: Massage with warm Narayan/MahaNarayana Oil. Mix one spoon of this oil with two spoons of Sesame or Mustard oil and massage the area twice daily. Take two capsules of Shallaki daily. Dear Geetha,
Thanks for the useful tips.3years back I had the same joint pain problem and had treatment from kottakkal vaidyasla.
I was advices to avoid root vegetables .of course as I was nearing 60 I was cutting oily ,fried foos also..they have given kasha yams also.oil application and massaging is a must.really it healped a lot and now I am taking Rhumalaya fotre which contains shalakki. It's available in himalaya drug stores.since it's aurvedic product,no side effect .
Now I got rid of the pain and able to maintain my health.
Your tips sure will help all to understand how to avoid joint pain

Hi Poorni,

It is good that you have taken steps to cure the problem. Kottakkal vaidyasla is indeed very good for such treatment. Also the shallaki in the Rhumalaya Forte will help a lot. Continue the same healing processes!
