    Hi Girls!

After a buzz of activity....its dull again! not fair!

Anyways... so whats the plan for Diwali? What sweets are you planning to make? What you guys generally do?

For me... Diwali means I HAVE to make rangoli. Some years back bec' of a project I was going to a school to implement the project there. It was during diwali ... so there was an event where in kids from each class and section made different rangoli... and i tell u the creativity was at the peak! they made rangoli out of bangles/jute/mud/sparkles.... it was absolutely dazzling! from there I picked one of the idea... Kids had put small small feet like rangoli in all the school cooridors... which looked soooooooo nice and actually divine! ... So every Diwali I definately make that rangoli.

Another plan is ... after getting off from work on 19th.... i m going to try couple of recipies which i have found on net and which ever turns out best...would make it on diwali!

I so much planned to wear a new sari .... but it will be dropped! would wear a nice new suit only! :(

Bec' of ma-in-law can't make it big...but would like to make this much to have a good omen and welcome prosperity in our home.

    What about you guys?

    Hey Maneka,

My first diwali in KL, so feeling a bit lost in terms of places to shop....im doing a bit of a talk in my son's school on what diwali is n also making the kids do some rangoli using flower petals

Back home it wud be so lit up n fun, will miss it....abt making sweets have no clue where to get khoya frm, might just do some shakar para if my tiny tot permits.

Rangoli might use coloured rice this time as i dont want to repeat doing it with colour u have to change almost daily as here the kids play n also its cleaned daily....

Diya's i have bought n loads of candles not just waiting to light them up, got pop ups also for my kids dont know if sparkles n other fire works r permitted as they were banned in dubai....:rant

Looking fwd to it ....Diwali the festival of lights

    Sonu

    Hey Sonu,

You can get khoya from a hotel called Jai Hind in Masjid Jamek. It is run by a sardarji. I am sorry i have lost the shop's number however it is very easy to locate this shop. I would tell about this shop offline.

    Love,

    M

Just now, I got my class postponed that was about to be on the 4th evening, on diwali eve. Now I am happy, relaxed.:rotfl

Not yet figured out my plans yet:rotfl

I will wear a new saree, then visit the temple and pray, eat sweets and meet relatives. I am not sure yet. But sure will be back-breaking work:bonk

    Hey All,

Happy Diwali to u n ur family.....met someone yesterday at a diwali lunch who mentioned is a silent visitor to IL almost daily .....the reason why there arent many indians participating in IL here is bcoz there is something like bharatclub which they frequent.....

Im off now to son's school for diwali celebration....doing the talk n making the kids do some rangoli.....hope to see u all soon...pls post how u celebrated ur diwali in this post.

My cleaning is complete, just need to visit Bangsar shopping mall a friend mentioned that outside of cold storage there is a big desk selling all indian sweets n savouries....

    Chao:)

Happy Diwali to all of you...

Sonu, was just checking the BharatClub website. Bharatclub dot org..There's a Diwali event on 13th Nov but there's a membership fee as well.

Have you heard from your friend if it's worth joining? Are the turnouts at the events good and a lot happening there? Contemplating whether to join or not...

    Hi Dear ladies

Happy Deepavali to all. May this year bring you and your family the best in terms of health, wealth, peace and prosperity:cheers

I also just visited that site, yeah, it shows a registration form like the one you fill in to get a visa with many details. Sorry, i don't fancy the idea of filling forms, paying then meet people or contact them to be friends, and then have get-together.

Friendship and acquaintances are natural, sorry if I had hurt any person's beliefs.

Although few people here in KL active here like paras, dancing dolphin and jas, I am happy with the genuine friendships and regular contact. dsouza, you are the fresher and you are welcome here. Soon, we ll plan and meet up. I am sure we ll enjoy. What say?

Again, Happy Diwali dear ladies. Lets all have fun :rotfl
