A weight loss success story

    Misha,

    See if you can get an elbow-support brace for your tennis elbow. It is available at most drugstores. You put it up about 1.5" below the elbow and it supports the tendons and inflamed muscle causing your tennis elbow. You could also try gentle stretching exercises of your elbow muscles. It will help out immensely with your pain/inflammation.

    Yay! I am so happy, I've made little changes to my everyday schedule. You know how I was struggling with a few things like not eating in time, being irregular with the food and then eating a LOT at the end of the day etc... its a thing of the past now. I bring my own lunch everyday now and have almost stopped eating out completely! I did grab lunch from the cafe yesterday as I had a real early 5am shift and I realized how much oil/salt etc that food had - funny as I used to eat it pretty often earlier :rotfl

    Oh, and when I have the urge to eat something sweet, I just get the little desk juicer out, run to the refrigerator - grab some citrus fruits (grapefruit, oranges) and juice them. It takes just 5 minutes including clean up (I counted yesterday, the same time as it used to go get something from the vending machine!), but I get such a refreshing drink with no added sugar!

    Oh, and instead of being stuck indoors all day and then getting more and more coffee to rev me up as the day goes on, I step outside for a brisk 15 minute walk every 3-4 hours instead. Its refreshing in a way and adds up to my walking total. I also do little things like marching in place, jumping jacks, wall pushups, squats etc as I'm waiting for like say the microwave to warm something (1 minute), or in the elevators haha!!

    It sounds funny, but I get the workout done without making a BIG time commitment that I usually never have! And I just started using intervals in my walking - I walk as fast as I can for 30-90 sec stretches and then resume my normal pace. :)

    I've been following this thread for a few months now , though this is my first post.I've been able to reduce 2 kgs in the past 3 months.your blogs are very useful, just loved the chapati dough with curd.i never thought that I'll be able to take just 3-4 tbsps of rice & feel satisfied.Another 6-7 kgs in next 6-7 months is the goal.After years I'm weighing myself regularly & I feel in control. Your approach is very practical & I feel that this time its going to work.

    Thanks for the reply. I am bit releived on the upperarms front as I measured myself, theres a 0.5 inch reduction.. and this within this 15 dayys of 1 hr walking and light dinner routine.....I am gonna forget it now and focus on weight loss now....

    Dear Meera, I am using that elbow brace, it does help a bit, and I am doing those googled tennis elbow exercises.. lets c... dumbells is out for next couple of months I am sure...Thanks :)

    Tomm is my exam, so am keeping it short,

    Dear Shiva,

    I am not write in this thread regularly but I am kind of addicted to it..after every hour or so I come and read the posts...
    Shiva...my problem is that I am stuck at 69 kgs...it is coming down..though I take only one chapati without ghee in the night only. There is one thing I would like commit here...I drink almost 7-8 coffee/tea from vending machine while I am in office...is this the reason???? In my office I feel very tired and exhausted so I go for a small walk and take a cup of coffee...but sometimes I have on my desk only....


    Can you please help me out in getting rid of this habit?????

    Dear Smartgrl,

    First get the experience of wearing them in the house and then take a call on wearing them for walks or not.

    I use to wear half kgs on both legs. Right now just take it slow.
